I really want to try some clip in hair extensions.. but I'm not sure what brand I should try. I want the length without the commitment of tracks in my head. The last time I had some sewn in they ITCHED like crazy because I couldn't get in to wash in between the braids like I would have liked. Anyone have any experience with clip in extensions? I have heard Bobbi Boss sp? is good, but I want to hear from my trusted hair sisters. Thanks ladies

I sewed some wig clips onto some EP hair that I had laying around the house. I did not like how they looked in my hair b/c my hair is so fine. Perhaps it would look better on thicker fuller hair.

I'm curious too. I think it would be a cool way to experiment with some edgy color and a way to wear bangs when my hair is straigtened without cutting my own hair.

I definitely am getting some (see some of my previous post) I am ubber excited. I can't wait until I get them!

Getting the wavy and straight as well as the bang :D

I think they are awesome no committing and still have an awesome look :D

Ugh that's what I'm afraid of because my hair is pretty fine too... but when I straighten my own natural hair it comes out pretty big lol and looks pretty thick

That's why I want them too!!

Thanks for the response! What brand in Sally's. I'm on the website right now and there's a brand called Euronext. Is that one any good?

I tried the beverly johnson clip in and it was pretty good. I also created my own clip in using wet n wavy beverly johnson track hair

After that i just flat ironed to blend and curled the ends with a curling iron

ETA: You can also create buns with the clip on hair

That does look really pretty. How long was your hair before the extensions?

^^^^ Thank you!!! So those were the Beverly johnson clip in's right? I can't wait to try these. They look so good on you. Really, really natural

I also wanted to add, with the straight hair I found I had to use my flat iron 2-3 times a week to make sure my hair blended with BJ. I didn't like that so much. That's why i chose the wet n wavy look so i wouldn't have to use heat to my hair. Thought you should know.

I recommend you buying the hair and sewing the clips on yourself they are super easy. I say that because the clips ins are so overpriced. I brought some small clips on ebay for like $7.00 for 100 clips and they are smaller than the ones at the BSS and then used some 10 inch chinese remy hair I had. I only used 3 clips for a long track. I started using clip in tracks for fuller bangs a few months ago. I have very fine low density hair and they are fine. The small clips dont hurt the BSS ones

Why did you have to use heat so much? Did the extensions start to get wavy? Also, did you take them out at night or leave them in? Thanks in advance Euyunka you have been extremely helpful <3

what exactly are those clips called? like, when i look for clips online, they give you a variety of hair accessories type of clips, but i'm considering doing it the way you just mentioned, so, where and how can i locate those particular clips to do this? clip in weaves are very over priced, but heck, they are so convenient..

I totally agree! Make them, its super easy and a lot cheaper, plus when you actually see them you will think to yourself "I could've made these".
The clips are called wig clips I get them in a pack of like 10 for a dollar at the $1 store use weave thread and a small needle that will fit threw the pre made holes on the clip. I made my own with a wet and wavy hair I found that matched my hair and when it got humid they still matched. Its just the price of hair, a needle, clips, and thread. The ones I made have lasted longer than the ones I bought and you can buy different lengths for layers or if your like me, you have a bag of bits of hair left over from weaves.
ETA: This is the video I used to make mine HTH :)

My hair was not as straight as the BJ, you know once humidity hits your hair it fizz up. The extensions stayed straight, my hair wouldn't. Yes I did take them out at not so the extentions would last longer.

Several of the women here like the one I quoted ideas are alot better. I chose to buy BJ first because i didn't know how to create clip ins but since then if I wear any I make them.

Good information! I might just try to make my own. Thanks for the video link too!

ETA The video that you posted was a tutorial showing how to put in the extensions and not make them? Is there another video that was helpful to you?

They are very easy and inexpensive to make yourself. I use to make, and wear them 5 years ago. They look like your hair if you get the right hair.

Be very careful and don't keep them in the same spot, the clips (snapping them on) will weaken your hair.
