I really want to try one but van't seem to find them anywhere! What companys make them and what stores can I find them in? Also, I just got my relaxer about two weeks ago, would it be to soon to clarify?

Thanks In Advance

I've never used a clarifying shampoo, but..

Nexxus Aloe Rid
Suave Clarifying
V05 Clarifying
Pantene Clarifying..

those are the only ones i know of. hth

I just don't belive the hype about clarifying shampoos. I have tried them all, nexxus aloe rid, aubrey swimmers shampoo, aveda detox, suave clarifying and they ALL stripped my hair dry. I found that they all contain the harshest surfacants out there and, unless you put tons of pomades and gels on your hair or are on certain medications or drugs that accumulate in your hair, you probably don't need to clarify. I have 4b relaxed hair and I swim alot during summer and over the years was under the mistaken belief that I NEED to clarify in order to get the chlorine and salts out of my hair -- after numerous diasterous attempts to use clarifiers, I found my hair responds beautifuly with "regular" shampoo. I can get my hair squeeky clean using a mild moisturizing shampoo like nexxus therappe (or something equally mild). Before you "clarify" make sure you really need it and if you conclude that you need, check out the following articles regarding surfacants in shampoos and the various levels of harshness in order to help you select a decent brand based on the surfacants used:

Hope this helps, somehow. . .

They can be drying but I use the clarifying first and then follow with a good moisturizing shampoo. Hope you find one that works babygryl. Take care Queneesha

I have tried Suave and the others the best one is Lanza Deep
Cleansing Shampoo it really cleans your hair without stripping it.
Give it a try Ladies.

Ditto! If you use a harsh clarifier a good moisturizing shampoo as a follow up is the way to go.

I find if I don't have a heavy build up (from "non-water soluble" waxes or cones) I can get by using VO5 Kiwi & Lime Clarifying Conditioner as a no poo clarifier. I apply it 2x's (apply rinse, apply again and leave on during my shower then rinse) then follow up with my regular conditioner.

The only Pantene product that I use is their clarifying shampoo called Purity. It really does a good job removing buildup. I do follow it with the KeraCare Moisturizing Detangling shampoo for its detangling properties.

Two weeks after a realxer is not too soon to clarify IMHO. I would follow it with possibly a protein treatment and a nice moisturizing conditioner.
