What's a good cheap clarifying shampoo (or conditioner) that's not too harsh besides baking soda?...

Organic Root Simulator's Olive Oil Creamy Aloe Shampoo:
removes calcium build-up
restores moisture
gently cleans and neutralizes
-Straight from the bottle

I like Paul Mitchell Clariying Shampoo Two. Clarifies, but gentle. I think it was like ten dollars.

I use this too...leaves my hair clean, but not stripped.

I use Tresemme Deep Cleansing Shampoo. Big bottle for around $5.

Do you mind sulfates?

I do but it's okay because I will only use it once a month or every other month...I have a $5 CVS coupon and wanted to get a good but cheap clarifying shampoo with it...

VO5 Kiwi Clarifying Shampoo it cost like 1 dollar it clarifies great and is very cheap!

Cristophe Purely Natural Clarifying Shampoo, sold at CVS. No sulfates (!), nice citrus-like smell and a little lathers up luxuriously!

ETA: A 10-oz bottle is $7.99.

I agree cheap and effective I also like pantene's clarifying shampoo and the ORS creamy aloe is great too

I use Joico K-Pak Professional Chelating Shampoo when I need to clarify, which is once in a blue moon. My hair is clean and does not feel dried out.

Neutrogena Anti-Residue is $5 and it makes your hair feel squeaky clean

Elucence Volume Clarifying Shampoo... It clarifies and chelates well. Affordable. Impressive ingredients. Smells like pears.

I use the Elucence Volume Clarifying shampoo all the time. It's a staple. It has a pH of 4.5-5.5. The ingredients are:
willow bark extract, sage extract, honey extract, chamomile extract, green tea extract, wild yam extract, wheat germ in purified water, sodium myreth sulfate (coconut oil derived), sodium 14-16 olefin sulfonate (mineral derived), cocomidopropyl betaine (coconut oil derived), cocoamide MEA (coconut oil derived), salicylic acid, biotin, panthenol, hydrolyzed wheat protein, EDTA, propylparaben (usp), benzophenone-4 (UV absorbant), fragrance/parfum, FD&C Blue 1 CI 42090, D&C yellow 5 CI 19140.

I love this shampoo. It does not make the hair feel stripped or dry at all. You only need a little bit because of the "condensed product processing" (i.e. super concentrated, you don't need to use a lot). The salicylic acid acts as a scalp exfoliator which is supposed to help with growth stimulation. It lasts a long time. It's the bomb. I won't use any other clarifying or chelating shampoo. I can't say enough good things about it.

I love Motions Neutralizing Shampoo. It has instructions on the bottle for clarifying. It works VERY well without that straw feeling. HTH! :)

bumpping to subscribe. I was going to start a thread like this.

I just used my Avalon Organics Clarifying Shampoo with Lemon and Shea Butter. So far, so good. My hair felt clean, but not dried out.

Hands down Redken Hair Cleansing Cream

It also removes hard water deposits from your hair and leaves it feeling soft.

Really, I didn't know that? WOW, goes to show you don't matter what you think you know, you don't read you miss something :)

Thanks Diva, I learned this today!

Running to check my bottle.

I use Suave Daily Clarifying, cheap and works like a charm.
