V05 Vanilla and Mint is a good clarifying shampoo. Also, Back to Basics makes a good one too. Usually shampoos that say volumizing, or energizing tend to be clarifying shampoos.

i use the pantene purity shampoo and it really gets all the stuff out of your hair-including the moisture-so u might want to try something else if u are also having not-enough-moisture issues

I shampoo with Nexxus Aloe Rid, and I also use Ion Crystal Clarifying Treatment a couple of times a month. In addition, I use a cheapie shower filter from Home Depot. This combo keeps my hair buildup-free and very manageable. Hope this helps.

Exactly! Nexxus Aloe Rid is a good one. :yep: It's not as drying. Also, stop using so much oil, grease, and/or heavy conditioners! You probably don't need them. :nono: Your hair will thrive w/some lighter stuff.

:hide: Im almost embarrassed to say but i've never clarified, i have to take everything in one step at a time, there's a lot to learn lol.

I'll betaking tips from this post coz i would like to try it out. :look:

Don't feel bad. Some people don't really need to clarify. :yep: I think it depends on the products that u use.

Suave makes a excellent clarifying shampoo for only a little over a dollar. Yes it's cheap, but it works as well as the expensive stuff. After clarifying, I usually follow with at least one lather of moisturizing shampoo to tame down the drying/stripping affect.

You know Lovelylocs, I do use alot of oil on my hair but I co wash (no poo) every 5 days and I deep condition during that time too. i a m going to try that nexxus aloe rid. I guess I purchase that at like trading secrets or JC Penney huh?

Or even Walmart and CVS. :yep: Yeah... I can't use oil on my hair very often either. I guess we have fine hair. ;)

yep this the one i use its not drying for my hair and only a dollar:lachen:

I really like Redkin Hair Cleansing Cream to clarify, I've never tried the nexxus aloe rid, but it sounds like it's a good one too.

Clarify hair with a safe clarifier. Search the board for previous threads to get recommendations on good brands.

Follow the clarifying with a moisturizing shampoo, to cleanse your scalp.

Carry on with your normal deep conditioning, and styling.
