I am seriously thinking about using the above product. It is a demi color and I want to use it for two reason.

1. I'm tired of this brown color and would like a black color

2. Because it is a demi color and I have low porosity and gymfreak suggested that a demi color may help with that problem.

Has anyone tried this product or do you have any suggestion for another product like this.

TIA

A black rinse will work too and is less permanent. I know that demiperms aren't necessarily permanent, but on relaxed hair they can be. Have you ever dyed your hair black before? Are you sure that you won't get tired of it? B/c if u decide that u don't like it and it stays permanently, u will have to use smthg to lift the color. Yikes.

I've used Natural Instincts for several months and it has not washed out at all...matter of fact the last time I used it (month and a half ago) it led to breakage...I have discontinued its use.

I though about a rinse but as I stated above this is two fold. I want to use a demi to help with my low positity problem as well as darken my hair.

I love Clairol Natural Instincts-but like someone said earlier that black will be a definite commitment. I think you should get something like Clairol Beautiful Collection in black, and it should last you about a month or two depending on how often you wash. A demi perm is gonna last about six months. If you washed everyday it would last about a month. While I love the color black on hair I would not recommend anyone dyeing theirs permanently black b/c down the road it's really hard to change to a different color. That is the problem I encountered recently-I had been coloring my hair perm black for years and decided I didn't want it any longer. Last summer I stripped out some of the color because it was so over colored it was breaking and have been having more cut off the ends every two months. I now have it a pretty auburn color. Never will I use demi or perm black again.

Thanks everyone,

I brought the color and I did buy the black. I am just so tired of this reddish brown right now that I really wanted black. If I decided to go lighter I will do a henna treatment which will lighten my hair.

So far I am loving it. I'm not sure how it will be dried as I am sitting here airdrying my rollerset but I will be able to get a good idea in the morning.
