....Gentle Semi-Permanent Color w/ aloe vera, jojoba oil, and vitamin E. No ammonia, no peroxide.

I picked this up today because it seemed to be comparable to the Adore rinses. I wanted a blonde rinse with an ash base to remove the brassy / orangey tone of my highlights (as per Tracy's recommendation

) The Adore colors didn't seem right for this so I decided to try it. I can always return or exchange it if I change my mind.

Has anyone used this rinse before? What were your experiences? I did a search but came up dry...let me know if I missed it though...
Thanx in advance ladies!!

I will not sugarcoat this:

It made my hair feel like crap. I used one of the black colors and my hair did not like it at all
nono.gif
It made my hair a tangled web. My hair was all dry and such... people still gave me compliments but I knew for a fact that stuff had my hair looking like Cookie Monster gnawed on the ends. BTW: i used this product when i didnt know much about hair care so maybe thats why my review is such a rant. I am now a fan of hennalucent.

Please do a strand test before trying this product. What didn't work for me may work for you so well!

Well Ill give you my personal opinion. This is the only rinse I have ever used so I have nothing to compare it to. My hair ALWAYS turns out shiny, silky, and soft. It even feels good putting it on (like a conditioner) I put my rinse in the same day I get my relaxer and talk about beautiful color. I use the 'darkest brown' color. All in all I love it and will only replace it for a permanent color.
Hope you have success with it!!

Wow...two extremes....well if I use it I only plan to use it on my highlights (maybe four altogether) and even still, I plan to run it by Tracy and then do a strand test first. Thanx for the speedy replies, ladies!

I cant wait to do a strand test...perhaps I'll do one now...do you think I should wait until after my next relaxer touch up? (hopefully in about 4 weeks) Or does it matter? How do you "prep" your hair for this product? I have an "appointment" w/ the Color Guru but I would like your opinion as well....thanx again!

I didn't do anything special to 'prep' my hair. I just made sure to follow the directions on the applicator bottle. Heat can be used to make the color last longer. Heat shouldn't be used right after a relaxer (meaning same day). Since you're getting a relaxer in 4 weeks, you may as well wait until afterwards because the color wouldn't last very long.

I've used it on my mother's hair (black). She didn't like it. It didn't do a great deal of gray coverage for her hair, and she complained of it being messy.

Thanx again Allandra.

Karonica, sorry your mom didnt like it. Since Im not going for opaque, all-over coverage, I am hoping for better results. Thanx for responding.

I've used it before and I LOVE it... I think I used the medium brown with a ash undertone... I may do one next week to make my hair less, um red LOL! I used a Motion color deposit conditioner instead of a Beautiful semi permanent and it made my hair red... It was chocolate brown too, go figure!

I've tried this semi-perm color a few times over the past couple of years and it never really lasts very long. I prefer Softsheen Rejuvatone, it lasts through several washes.

Hey Isis!
Ive got a question for you! My highites are rather light like yours. The color you use is called Medium brown with ash undertone? Does this help your color look more rich? How often do you use it? Does it help to protect your hair?

Ive used the motions as well and I used the auburn which made my hair red and the nutmeg brown made my hair red as well!

TIA

Hey Isis! I almost got that color because its a smidge darker than the blonde one I got. I went w/ the lighter shade because I didnt really want them darker, just toned down a bit....

I have tried it... I used the red cedar brown color (I think that's what it was)... I loved it.. I tried it twice... and it was a really pretty color... but I washed my hair twice and the color was no longer visible (both times). Also, when I put the color in myself, my hair felt really bad and tangled up, I think my beautician had better luck getting it in without it tangling.

Adore is a much better product to me...too bad they don't have my color. I drive about 2 hours to get Adore...when Clairol is about 15 minutes away from where I live.

ThursdayGirl, yikes!! Two hours? You must really love Adore. I've only ever used the clear Adore and I didn't really like it that much. The color Adore must be much better.

Cindy, What didn't you like about the clear Adore?? I just used it last weekend, and it was fine for me. It was easy to apply, and didn't leave my hair hard & tangly. It kind of felt like using Nexxus Emergencee, but without the hardness!! My hair also came out soft & shiny, too.

Have you ever tried the Honey Brown? The color looks pretty on the swatch, but Im afraid it may be VERY light.
TIA

I just bought a bottle of the Wine Brown today. I posted in another thread about whether it's safe to do it on the same day as a relaxer (which I just finished doing about 10 minutes ago...my hair's still wet). Is it?

I always do it right after im done conditioning my newly relaxed hair. I dont think it does any damage at all....but dont use heat for the color after a fresh relaxer....they advise against it.

I want to do it, but I'm skuuurrred! No, I need another color. I did a strand test with the Wine Brown and it didn't seem to make much of a difference.

So I might have to stop being a big ole baby and try a lighter color.

Thanks for the advice, everyone!

I used the light ash brown... it does not come out that light at all... if your natural hair is dark... I believe your hair has to be lifted to achieve that true color (meaning blond)... Does anyone know if that is true???
