Claiming APL ^_^

And I finally managed to get a decent picture I've been having my DH check my length for me and I finally feel comfortable claiming APL.

Please excuse my ends, I had just put some infusium23 on them... after having it in a bun for a couple of days. You can't really tell in the photo but right at the edge of the top of my head is where the green ends. So from the front now if my hair is pulled up you can't tell that it is mostly green. When I joined I had around and inch of new growth(that wasn't bleached and dyed) I had trimmed about 1.5" since my avatar pic, maybe a little more.

The green line is the top of my bra strap, and the blue is the bottom.

I really wanted to flat iron it to take pics but I have learned better.... Oh how I wish I had found this site years ago, or maybe that my mother had been better educated in how to pamper our hair.

I don't really have a reggy I just scalp wash when it needs it, with one of my natural shampoo bars. and condition. I oil with coconut oil and occasionally use infusium23 or porosity control. Low manipulation and generally being gental with my hair have kept my length on my head. Oh and S&D

On another note: Did I read green correctly? I've been considering dying a small piece of my hair (like AdoraAdora) to keep track of my growth. It's really exciting to see where you've come from at the roots, it gives you a better idea of how well you're retaining.

Congratulations! I too just (barely whew!) made APL. The key for me really is low manipulation. All the bandwagons and concoctions people have suggested can't come near to just plain old keeping your hands out of your hair. Now I wash every 2-3 weeks, wear my hair in a bun and fuggitaboutit.

Yeah it is greenish. I love that I have a definite line to chart my growth from. After it grows and I eventually cut the bleached and dyed portion out I might bleach a small portion just to keep track of growth.

Thats a hard question, i started bleaching my hair when I turned 18 , I'll be 23 in jan. I'm sure the last few inched of my hair have been bleached at least 5 times, and dyed.... countless times. But I have henna-ed 3 or four times too.
