Christian Books for Kids?

One of my coworkers just came into my office because she wanted me to read a poem that she wrote for a Christian spoken word event. It was about Eve's story. I thought it was a beautiful poem. She mentioned that she would really love to start writing similiar Christian stories for AA kids, and I strongly encouraged her to do it.

I know growing up I didn't read a lot of those books. I don't remember really seeing any with black characters. She's also planning on offering a dvd to go along with the books. What do you guys think about this? Are there a lot of these books currently on the market? Would you purchase these types of books for your kids? I buy books to read with my niece (5), and nephew (9), but I haven't come across the type of book she's interested in selling. If you know of any, please post.

Thanks!!

Yes, there are several. Here are a few AA that I can think of now. I'll have to look at my daughter's collection later to list more.

How Do Alligators Praise the Lord (Kirk Franklin)

A Heart For Jesus (Juanita Bynum)

God, Can You Hear Me? (Justine Simmons)
