I've finally given up on my Jilbere ceramic iron

and I'm considering splurging on one of the more expensive brands. If I'm going to spend all that money, I want the absolute best. What are the differences between these brands, and which do you recommend? TIA

I have a CHI curling iron and it's great, but from what I've heard any one of these brands would be good and all are top quality.

I think you are going to hear that whoever has a CHI will say that is the best, whoever has the HAI will say that one is and so on. I bought the FHI.. after doing alot of research and reading HOURS of posts.. I decided on the FHI! What made my final decision was when I read a couple of posts that said that either the girls had the CHI or HAI first and then got the FHI and they liked the FHI better..the FHI also gets hotter than the CHI's and the HAI's.. Before, I was going to choose the HAI over the CHI.. it seemed like there were more people who had more damage to their hair from the CHI than the HAI. But everyone's hair is different and things work differently different people. Just do some research and you'll find which one will be the best for you.

Let us know what you decide!!

I was looking into the HAI. They rate flatirons on Folica.com and HAI got a better rating than the CHI. I also will look into the FHI because my hair is very thick.

I have not bought a flatiron yet because I can't make up my mind on which one I should get. If I am going to spend all that money I want to make the right decision.

I don't blame you..that's what you should do if you are spending all that money..you want to make the right decision!

I didn't know about that folica.com.. I'll have to check it out.. thanks!

I am searching too. I haven't decided on a CHI or a FHI. I heard that HAI's plates are ceramic coated, so that turned me off. The person may have been wrong though. The new FHI (with the red plates) is an Ion iron. If this will make a difference I don't know. There is also this one called H2Pro. It's an Ion iron too. I never heard of it, but I called the website and he said it's made by the same company that makes FHI, but it has a smaller heating element. It reaches the same temperature, so I don't know what difference that would make? I know it's $80 less than the FHI Ceramic Ion. I may order this one. They have a 30 day return policy. Here is the site:

Hey! That one looks good.. looks like my FHI..and since it's made by the same company..it should..lol My FHI has red plates. From what I read the ionic thing is suppose to be better for your hair..something about moisture.. Had I seen this one..there is a good chance that I would have bought it since they make the FHI ones. I never heard that HAI's were ceramic coated.. that might be wrong..but you never know..but that is the first that I've ever heard that. I paid $129 for my FHI including 2 day fedex..but you can get it on ebay for $70 plus shipping. I got mine from http://www.salonbuilder.com/templates/catalog.asp?func=C&SID=149423&NID=103

Let us know what you decide.. it's a hard decision..but I'm sure you'll be happy with whatever you decide. But, if you don't like whatever you decide, just make sure they have a good return policy..ya know..

First I was gonna pay $50 or $60 for a HAI. Then I saw the FHI for $70. Then I saw the FHI Ion for $90. Then I'm like, do I wanna order off of ebay? What if I don't like it? I could always sell it on ebay but who wants to go through that. I don't know what to do... This flat iron search is taking too much time and energy.

LOL Yah, it does take alot of time and energy..ebay might wind up being a pain in the

I have the FHI Ion one..that 207 one.. aren't all of the FHI Ionic or no? I say get the FHI since I already did all the research for myself.. I just got it earlier this month.. gotta love tax refunds..LOL but shhh.. don't tell my husband.. he thinks my friend gave it to me because she didn't like it..LOL

LOL at your "secret".

The older FHI is not Ionic. It's the one with the dark brown plates. It's going for $70 on ebay. The Ionic one (that you have) is like $90, but it's from someone with no return policy. The seller with the return policy has it for $169 with a free blow dryer. I don't need a blow dryer!!!! I may end up getting it from salonbuilder like you. I figure, if I'm going to invest in a flat iron and spend close to $100, I may as well spend a little more and get the top of the line, right?

LOL yah, husband's will believe just about anything..lol

I need a new blowdryer..but I like Solano's. If you get it from the same place I did.. just make sure that you call to get the deep discount price.. which is the $129 with free 2 day fedex.. I didn't realize that the one on ebay was the old one..good thing I didn't get it from there!
