There was someone whom kept making outrageous comments...stuff that you know couldn't be true...calling other posters names...the person(or persons) kept logging in under a different names and reposting. It was so ridiculous and nasty. There were several other foums under one so this happened in the 'Multicultural forum'...I really feel it was someone from the other forum, because it was later learned that some of the ladies on that forum were laughing at the thread that was causing all the hateful remarks and posts in our forum and how they were glad they weren't posting there. Jennifer was the moderator for both forums...
Even though I few of us emailed her, she would only say she couldn't do anything about it and to just ignore the posts(you didn't have to register to post, and most of the posts were from 'anonymous posters...'. She then updated the forum to a paid forum, which alot of us didn't like the format of and also couldn't access it. That is when I believe Beverly started the original forum that lead to this current forum.

I remember those days. I used to get a headache reading those posts. I was like do people get their kicks just being so mean and nasty. That whole Jennifer thing was a whole other issue. I could go on for days about how I feel about that one. But I like coming here because of the harmony we have. its hard to find a site like that. so thanks to all the moderators and people in charge that have helped make this place a lovely environment for us all. I remember visiting that board for awhile and although there was good information, there were always really ugly posts. That discouraged me from joining that community, but this board is really wonderful. The ladies get along, the moderators moderate, and nothing gets totally out of hand (all families bicker from time to time, but it is all in love!!!!!). I am glad to be a part of this forum

I just remembered something--
Someone put a Vigorol in their hair based on longhairdiva's regime. Does anyone remember who that person was? She posted her results (glowing review of Vigorol...), but the thread is gone. Someone should warn her it was a hoax. I would hate for someone's hair to get messed up because of this.
Or maybe the rave review came from one of the trolls. I've never known anyone to get good results from Vigorol...

You know Pebbles, I didn't think it was real person but I didn't want to say anything because of what happened when other members accused someone of wearing a weave and it got nasty. That's why I stressed that Vigorol was not a relaxer that should be used on hair that is relaxed because I did use the product years ago. WOW! Who wants hair down to the knees anyway, not me. What gave it away to me was when she said Vigorol got her hair super straight. How did you find out it was a fraud? I wonder if the person knows they are using their pics, probably came from some website.

Well, from what I've been told, she identified herself as a fake and she and 4 other new members started calling the ladies here stupid for believing her, etc. It got nasty and some folks here lost their minds, understandibly. The ladies on this forum go out of their way to make new members feel welcomed. It was a violation of our trust and our community. Just sad stuff...

Pebbles, you are right, it is a violation of trust. I mean every new member is always warmly welcomed here. Now, if everyone had been mean or rude to the fake longhairdiva they would have still had a problem. Instead of saying we were dumb for believing her, they would have said we were jealous of her because we didn't believe her. It was a no win situation but I didn't believe her at all. I hope no one went out and purchased the pills she was taking.
I only complimented the fraud because I wanted to post about the dangers of Vigorol and I figured it would be rude to come in her thread without complimenting her. I started not to say anything about those pictures....oh well. That's one reason that I rarely ever make comments on pictures or welcome anyone because of the jokers out there. Such a shame.

I did not think she was a fraud, but she was definitely suspect when she said that she trims her hair EVERY MONTH even if the ends do not look visibly damaged or split. Dare I say that if you trim your ends every month, you will not net any length. DUH!!!!!!!!!!!

I think this should be an important reminder to us all that we all need to make educated decisions on tips and techniques and use common sense when we read anything online.
The beauty of the internet is such that we can all maintain our privacy and annonomity (sp) but there will be those that will abuse it for their own foolish pleasure. On the internet a person can be anyone they wish to be. I can go over to a baby discussion board and tell them that Windex works just marvelously for clearing up diaper rash on all three of my children b/c I have been using it for years...luckily I am not mean spirited like that and even if I was I dont have that much time on my hands.
Although many of us have been members of this community for a while now and we feel that we 'know' one another we really don't know each other in the true sense of knowing a person.
I am not saying that we shouldn't trust the tips and hair care advice given here but just keep in mind who is posting, what their hair type is and if you and that person share the same hair goals. And after all that just use common sense...if it sounds too good to be true it usually is.
Sorry to be such a pesimist but bottom line...you never know who is posting info online, what their hair looks like, if the so called 'new product' or 'technique' really did work like they said it worked and if that's even them in the picture they posted!!!
