Cheaper alternative to fhi platform

Hey ladies, I'm in the market for a new flat iron and I'm very interested in getting a 100% ceramic flat iron. My choices are pretty narrow... only 2 (to my knowledge),the ever infamous FHI Runway and the less discussed Hana Elite Flat Iron.
I discovered the hana elite on misikko.com where I believe it's 189 or 199 and they're really trying to compare it against the FHI Runway. It sounds really good ladies, and the reviews aren't easy to come by, but what I've seen has been nothing but positive.

So what have you ladies heard? Has anyone used it?

Ladies who own or used a Runway, what do you think?
 
I also wanted a FHI Runway, but it's too expensive. I was told that the next best thing to the FHI runway is the FHI platform if you want to stay in the same brand.

I was able to get a brand new FHI platform at Amazon.com for only $97.00!! To me that was a bargain. I used it for the first time last weekend as I used my "Quarterly Boot Camp Pass". Its fabulous!! I'm glad I bought it.

My beautician use the FHI platform on me and OMG.........My hair is like silk. I posted pics in my fotki last night. .

when i went to my stylist he used a ghd... hair felt like silk but it snagged a little. But i'm really interested in a fhi though

I just bought the Platform on Ebay. So excited, can't wait for it to come. I had also looked at Amazon during my search. I just can't do the Runway at those prices, not even Amazon/Ebay prices.

OP, I don't know about the second iron you mentioned. However, if you are looking for deals on any flat irons (Sedu, CHI, etc) I suggest Amazaon and Ebay as well.

I do have a Jibere flat iron right now. It is 100% ceramic. I don't remember how much I paid for it. I doubt it was more than $50. It did the job for a time. But now that I am trying to go natural (w/o the BC), the Jibere is just not hitting for me anymore.
 
i've had my eyes on the Hana Elite also. It sounds really good, but I wish i knew someone who had one. Its right in my price range
 
In the uk me and another LHCF'r Chenai subscribed to a hair magazine (black beauty and hair and for subscribing we got a free FHI platform!)

Thats the best £15.45 i've ever spent! lol
 
Hmmm. I heard that the H2pro flat iron is from the same assembly line and manufacturer as the Fhi...its just the H2pro is much cheaper... You can go to gmbshair.com, ebay, I believe I saw it on missiko, clairhair.com, hairsisters.com has it too. I plan on purchasing the h2pro very soon. Almost EVERY BSS here has it sooo you can check out your local BSS also. It is true ceramic and infared and comes in a fixed temp and variable(Cost is more but the temp is higher 450 degrees) I say check it out!

Aren't GHD's supposed to be the best flat iron going....they bang on about it so much over here? Sounds like it lives up to the hype!

Personally i was not too keen on the GHD, my hair felt like straw after i'd used them. But hey if they work for everybody else...
