I posted some notes that I took from a sermon in the thread about submitting to one's husband, so here is a continuation. My pastor has been preaching on the topic "Emmanuel" from Matthew 1:18-25 where Mary finds out that she is pregnant and Joseph is deciding how to deal with it. He gave us some characteristics that women and men should look for in a mate/ what you should strive to be. These are notes from the last 2 weeks. I will post today's notes later.

A JUST MAN is
1. Responsible- he takes care of his own
2. Accountable- he takes ownership of what is allotted to him and
doesn't make excuses.
3. Not rash or impulsive- he thinks before he acts and speaks
4. Loving- he is affectionate and tender when he needs to be
5. Considerate- he is kind and mindful of the needs of others
6. Respectful- he gives honor where honor is due
7. Loves God- the central purpose of his life is to please God.

A YIELDED WOMAN is
1. Revealed by a spirit of humility. She doesn't think that she is better
than others.
2. Submissive Attitude
3. Willing to be misunderstood and criticized as long as she is in the will
of God for her life.
4. Willing to risk relationships if it jeopardizes he relationship with God
5. Not afraid to ask tough questions when things don't make sense.
6. Not jealous or envious when someone else is blessed. She celebrates
others.
7. Discrete with who she shares intimate things.
8. Strong and faithful toward God.

He went on to say that, any man or woman that loves God should struggle with the thought of divorce.

A Just Man is not complete until he is in covenant with a yielded woman.

A Yielded Woman is not a doormat.
