Challenges for the new year...

Are we going to start a new set of challenges for next year, like "Super GrowOut 2006" or *365-day for 2006*???

i'm wondering if I should get on a challenge for the new year. I'm basically off the Waistlength by 2007 challenge because I realize that I don't want hair that long anymore. Sorry gals! and I dont' want to spend the next year obssessing over growth. I want to be ready to just take care of my hair like I should, without being overly afraid to enjoy it.

I was thinking about the 365-day, but that'll come down to either November or December 2006. Chances are, I will be in a whole new weather. I hope to go from Miami to Boston for college and boy, I have never been in such extreme weather and would not know how to protect my hair then. That's why I don't want to be worrying over growth instead of hair health. Maybe I should create my own little "Consitency and Healthy Hair" challenge... so that I don't let go of myself.

Just for the heck of it: State your current length, your ultimate goal, how lmany inches you would like to gain in 2006, and what challenges you want to try to help you get there?

--- Me---
*Current length: probably 24" at my touch-up in two weeks. I'll know for sure then
*Ultimate goal: 29" at the most... or maybe just 27", dont know yet
*Inches I hope to gain: 6" or 7" but I don't want to be dead afraid of trimming anymore...
*Challenges: Healthy Me, Healthy Hair: low to no heat, consistency, good diet, mostly protective hairstyles, and enjoying my hair :)

Current Length: 17" hairline to ends
Ultimate Goal: Waist
Inches I hope to gain: 7 or 8" (i MTG so i get about 3/4" monthly at times)
Challenges: thick healthy hair, min heat (air drying, then warm press the roots)

This sounds cool -- i've never done a hair challenge before.
my current length is arm pit length stretched out.
my goal for 2006: would love to make it to bra strap
ultimate goal: would like mid back hair un stretched---but shrinkage ain't no joke!!
Challenges: protective styles ( i wear 2 strand twist all the time) deep condish once a week. and keep my napps well moisterized. how's that sound?

I would like to be on a year long challenge. I'm pretty much out of the waist length because that's longer than what I want to. I'm looking at mid-back length (stretched) as my goal now. Anyway, here are my current stats and goals for the next two years:

100% natural 3b/c
Current Length: Shoulder (Stretched)
Goal Length by End of 2006: Armpit Length (Stretched)
Goal Length by End of 2007: Mid-Back Length (Stretched)
Challenges: Deep condition EVERY week, protective styles- baggie method and buns

I would like to aim for lenght the first six months of the year and then thickenss for the last six. I would be trimming like crazy, cause I one bad, I am just procastinating.:p. Anyways I am going to baby my ends until about april/May. I really hope to reach my goal of brastrap by october 06. That would be really nice. I am going to be on a bun/Baggy/ Comb 1ce a week challange.

Present Lenght-Armpit
Goal-Brastrap

Current length: Shoulder
Ultimate goal: Healthy armpit length (hopefully by end of 2006)
Challenges: Stick to taking vitamins, protecting my ends with buns and phonie ponytails. Deep condition each week, regular exercise and healthy eating.

Im still working on what products best work for my hair and seeing how my hair copes with stretching my relaxers to 12 weeks.

Current length: 24 1/2 inches, V shape
Ultimate goal: 30 inches, U shape by Dec.06
Inches I hope to gain: 7 inches
Challenges(2006): Thick hair, Healthy Hair and Body, take your vitamins.

Current Length: 2 Inch past Brastrap
Ultimate Goal: Waist
Inches I hope to gain: Total of 12 inches of natural hair.
Challenges: Taking vits cause i'm really deficent, Softening my hair again due to protein issues, finding a deep conditioner that doesn't make my hair feel like a brillo pad.

Thank you everyone!

I also wanted to add that I want to deep-condition more often, probably every week.

Current Length: I think about 10 inches, not positive
Ultimate Goal: Waistlength
Inches to gain in 2006: 8+
Challenges: If I'm going to be waistlength by Jan. 2007, I'm going to need some major growth this coming year. My main challenge is going to be achieving 1 inch of growth in a month. I believe I can do it, I just have to figure out what else I need to be doing in order to get there.

Current length: shoulder length not sure about inches
Ultimate goal: Just let it grow but at least BSL
How many inches you would like to gain in 2006: at least 6in
what challenges you want to try to help you get there: 365 day challenge, super grow out challenge, bsl challenge, healthy & thick hair challenge etc.

I don't know what my length is in inches but I'm at the top of brastrap. I hope to gain about 8 inches this year and retain 7 of them. I plan on strictly following the C & G methods using braids and weaves. I plan on doing light dustings, I think that I will be past bra-length and close to waistlength by the end of 06...not quite sure if I want to continue to go to waistlength.:)

welll i know that in boston the weather is rainy and cloudy a good portion of the time...i think its similar to philly and jersey which im accustomed to..its very moist there but the effects can be drying on your hair because of the frequent percipitation..my guess? you wont really have to do much different besides trying to step up the moisture (perhaps invest in some butters), some more protective styling, and be careful of using too much heat..besides that i think youll be fine!!

Currently: transitioning- no longer to natural..just plain transitioning until i meet a few more goals..then maybe go to natural..
Current Length: right above mid back on me- about 3-4 inches(mid back would be waist length on me)
Goal Length by end of 05': 4 more inches of growth! So far 2 inches of growth..3 inches in one place..lol
Goal by end of 06': Full almost waist length curly hair (im almost at waist length straight)- so inches to gain: another 10 inches- 15 maximum
Ultimate goal: 28-30 inches
Challenges: Baggie Challenge, MTG Challenge, Maximum Growth Challenge, Vaseline Challenge, Organic Products Challenge, and Protective styling Challenge, Waist length by 07 challenge----- PHEW! THATS A LOT! lol
