Which is better for your hair? What is the science behind each one...(for the LHCF scientist)?? I am contemplating purchasing a flat irons as a graduation present to myself!!!:sekret::grin:

I use a sedu which is ceramic tourmaline. It has even temp and smooth surface to straighten hair. I like it b/c I don't have to use a high temp or doing a lot passes to get my hair straight. I had a ceramic iron and it couldn't get my hair straight enough so I think it's better to get an iron that has both ceramic & tourmaline. Hth

I go with what works for my hair and my hair loves ceramic. I can get my hair straight with one pass and that cuts down on damage for me.

IDK, mine is both. I think tourmaline is better for making the hair shiny/less frizzy and ceramic plates are supposed to emit more even, less damaging heat than metal plates in the past that produced "hot spots."
