Can yall tell I got a lil money, LOL, PJ fo' life

Okay, Yes I did do a search but couldnt find anything, I want to get a Ceramic Flat Iron, any things I should look out for, like ceramic plating wording?

Which ones do you ladies use and get the best results with, Brand name rather!

I have looked on eBay, and they have two kinds, the FHI and the Farouk CHI, has anyone tried either?

I have an FHI coming in the mail I got off ebay for a great buy. how much are u looking to spend? the reason I ask is because I didnt realize the one I got doesnt have a heat setting until after I paid for it. The CHI original doesnt either and its very popular, its just that I would prefer to have one. my hair is sort of fine and fragile and Im afraid Ill burn it!

If u are interested maybe we can work something out, it runs for around $100, but I got it for 50. Id sell it for $40 and if u think of it, thats how much the cheapo ones at Sallys cost and they dont heat up anywhere near as the better brands.

Its all ceramic and 3/4 an inch so its big enough to do the job, but small enough to get your roots if you are trying to smooth your new growth out.

who knows, I may love it when I get it, but I really would rather have one with heat settings so if u or anyone else is interested, PM me! its on its way so let me see if its too hot for me when it comes, but otherwise any possible buyers let me know and Ill get back to u!

I was looking at that, Leslie_C, I might want one with settings too, I was looking at the Chi Turo, because I was looking on the Farouk site and it sparked my interest!

BTW, what is the difference between a hot tools or G&hot ceramic iron and the FHI and CHI's irons
Any more Ceramic users?

Chi and Bion are supposed to be the best. Bion cost the most between both because it's digital.

Here's pics of them: Bion, Chi, and Hai Convertible

I love my HAI. I only use it about once every 3 months. I really like the fact that it allows me to control the amount of heat.

Anjel,
from what I understand, the top quality irons and most popular are HAI, CHI, and FHI....some also have said good things about baybliss(sp)....they are all comparable.

The reason the higher end ones cost so much more is because they are real ceramic (the cheaper ones are ceramic coated), they reach a much higher temperature, and have PHT or PPT(cant remember the exact name) heaters which make them the best u can buy.

so between a HAI, CHI, anf FHI, they are suppose to be the same?

I know I dont want the BION, beause I tend to drop things alot and the digital might just give out.

I am heavily thinking about the CHI turbo or FHI, havent seen anything on Ebay about the HAI

Anjel, they are made by different companies, but just claim to do the same. I personally think that the FHI and the CHI are higher quality than the HAI.

I have an FHI RVI and a CHI Turbo. I haven't tried the CHI yet. The FHI is great!! I get my flat irons from ebay store SmartDealsOnline. They have a really good 30 day, no questions asked return policy. As someone stated above, the original CHI does not have a temp setting, but the CHI Turbo does. (I've heard only good things about the Turbo!) If you go with the FHI, make sure that you get the FHI Ionic RVI (the red plated one) It gets up to 450 degress. The yellow plated one is not as good as the red plated one. The yellow is just ceramic coated.

Anjel, if you want to check out the HAI, go to the ebay store that I listed above. They sell that one, too.

I just seen a post where u stated this, LOL, what a cowinky dink, LOL

GIRL TRY THAT CHI OUT, and tell me which one you like the most, girl get that money because they cost a pretty penny, LOL. I figure if I am goin pay that much milds well go withthe best.

I am considering the FHI red one Model 207 (actually was looking at the yellow plated one, thank gosh I seen your post, and I bumped it). Ans the CHI turbo 1 inch

Here's my $.01-
I did research b4 I bought mine. It was hard b/c there wasn't alot of reviews. I decided to buy the FHI b/c of the very few bad reviews that I found for 2 of the 3 I considered.

-a couple of bad reviews for the HAI b/c it snags hair
-a few bad review for chi b/c the pad on the handle peels off

I know these things don't happen to everyone but I felt that if I'm gonna pay that much $ for a flat iron I don't want to hear anything bad about it. I haven't seen anything bad said about the FHI yet. My decision was actually helped by the positive reviews of the lhcf ladies: tigerlily, bocagirl, rushgirl, and crysdon. Thanks ladies

BTW I haven't tried my new flat iron yet--I just got it yesterday

Re: Ceramic Irons : Best Ones

I have a plain ole Jilbere Ceramic Flat Iron (purchased from Sally Beauty Supply). I don't use it very often, but it does the job for me.
