Hi Ladies,
are any of you still using this treatment regularly or inconsistently? Can any of you share your experiences and benefits/disadvantages of using this treatment?

I tried this back in the summer of 2005. It did nothing for my hair. Plus, I didn't like how it left cayenne pepper grains in my hair even after washing it out.

Hi Poobear,
Thanks for responding. I tried this today and my scalp tingled, when I did a scalp massage. I didn't have any problems with the grains because they had settled in the bottom of the jar. I used 5:1 EVOO & cayenne. Perhaps you didn't use enough cayenne?

I think that I will try using this as a pre-poo treatment for a good 3 mths, to ascertain its effect. This is a relatively inexpensive treatment and well worth trying.

I have been doing my cayenne/evoo treatment for the past five weeks, starting a week after my touch-up. I do this type of treatment once a week with my weekly co-wash/washes. (I alternate weekly). I have noticed that my scalp dermatitis is 98% gone and have less dandruff. I also have alot of new growth. I would say about 1/2 to 3/4 inch around my crown area and and inch to inch and 1/2 inside. This treatment is combined with a routine that includes vitamins, lots of water, nightly scalp massages and MTG (but I have only been using it for 3 weeks). If nothing else, it cleans and opens my scalp for circulation and keep it practically dandruff free so its a keeper for me. I have been taking pictures throughout my process so I will eventually post pictures after my next touch in about a week or two. (I cant stretch relaxers does nothing for my hair except make it break).

take care

iv done it once but i couldnt feel the tingle... i think i may try it again on a regular basis to see if i can get more growth.

I do not use the combo as pre-poo but to oil my scalp three times a week. I think it helps keep my hair think especially around the edges.:)

Glad to hear it has helped with your scalp, that is very useful to know.

I think it is well worth the effect and cost.

I had never thought of using it to oil my scalp, good idea. I might try it for scalp massages, a little really goes a long way.

Thanks for your reponses ladies, please keep them coming.

Okay what's the cayenne supposed to do. I do an EVOO treatment weekly now for shine but haven't tried cayenne pepper with this.

Michelle3147,
the cayenne is supposed to stimulate the pores on the scalp. This in turn coupled with massage, aides the circulation of blood and therefore the nutrients it provides, helps to keep the scalp healthy and ensure healthy hair growth. If you key in cayenne and hair growth on an internet search this information is readily available. In many cases it thickens your hair and reactivates hair follicles especially in bald or thinning patches.

I've used the EVOO/cayenne mixture twice monthly basis for the past 4 months. I've had lots of new growth and my hair is super soft and shiny. I'm too lazy to strain the cayenne so the entire mixture goes on my scalp.

I tried this today, didn't feel tingling, but I have a headache now, I'm not sure if it's from this, when I put it in, my head did feel kinda hot.
