I really love her conditioner :lick: but I was wondering has anyone found something that works just the same but for a cheaper price? I hate to keep paying almost $10 for shipping and the product only cost $8.:wallbash:

TIA

nope, I still have to have her conditioner.. I have found nothing in comparison... I am way too addicted to her menthol/peppermint oil mix with all the different oil extracts in her deep con. to find something else.

Here is the mix I learned about from BHM...

16-20 ounces of protien conditioner
3 ounces coconut oil
1.5 ounces EVOO
.5 ounces peppermint essential oil

I have gotten my mix down to where it only costs me a little more than $5 for a 26 ounce batch.

Good luck!

ETA: My mix has a few other things in it that contribute to the cost per batch being so high.

If you do a search I'm sure you could find the recipe for her conditioner in an old thread. In Cathy's first edition of her book, she provided the recipe and I've seen it discussed on this board (but of course that was before she started making and selling it for $$$).

I know right:lachen:...If my batch doesn't come out right...I may have to save up my pennies and buy the big fat bottle:ohwell:

Stirring it up is usually the hardest part. If you have a blender or food processor I'd say throw it all in there and let it go. It comes out nice and smooth that way. Mixing by hand isn't alway bad either. :)

i use this too, i really like the fresh tingly feeling my scalp has after using it. i bought the big-a$$ bottle so it's gonna last me for awhile...

What protein conditioner do you use in your mix? A friend of mine makes her own UBH with Mane and Tail as the conditioner and swears by it

Alot of ladies use and love Mane n Tail. I hated it because I thought it was too watery. So I went back to using LeKair Cholesterol, which is much thicker. I might give Mane n Tail another try now that I have a blender which should whip it really well.

Her original recipe Belleama posted used MNT, I think, but I'm sure any protein conditioner you like to use would work.

If you are from Jersey, there is a BSS that sells it in the Southern part of New Jersey. Let me know what part you are from and if its close, you can pick it up there. I usually get the hair lotion from that spot. :yep:
