I was ordering some products that worked for me when i was on my "hair wagon" and was looking through the UBH site and noticed that Cathy has a youtube channel with a few videos of her hair tips. really good info for beginners. Im lovin her forced smile at the end of each vid LOL hilarious. just thought I would post.

Idk...she's boring as hell. Not interested in whatever she's selling

Sent from my iPhone using LHCF

I just find it hard to believe that she is constantly getting weave checked. I know numerous black women in my daily life with equal or longer hair, not to mention the many, many, LHCF, BHM and YT ladies with more remarkable length.:ohwell:

we just had a whole thread about getting weave checked...and not everyone had WSL hair so its not that far fetched

i've been reading about her on here for years and never saw her before. her hair looks nothing like what i thought it would look.:ohwell:

Wow! I remember when I first started and I thought her hair was long and impressive. Now I don't. My hair looks better than hers! Go LHCF!

Her ends look a mess.

Same here! I even purchased her book at the beginning of my journey... then I found LHCF.

Ok... so i watched a video.
pros. Yes, her hair is full and luscious, i do have to admit.

I wanted to see ratty hair, etc, but it's full, and has body.
I can imagine why she'd be weave checked.

Cons.
Her ends are not good. They're very stringy, is she saving them for the length of her hair?
Go on and cut them off boo boo...

Her length? Not what I was expecting. I've had her book since 2002, and she's been bragging since then... i would have expected her to keep and maintain tail bone length, even throughout her transition process... that would have proved something to me...

I agree. If you are going to be the hair guru, you should have hair that is at least mid-back length with healthy ends. I suppose if she were waist-length or beyond, her ends wouldn't have to be that even.

Her hair look alright. This vid seems out of place for some reason. It's almost silly or out of touch. I think she is coming on the YT scene a little late especially since there are plenty of women on YT with good haircare tips who aren't selling a thing and their hair looks better or just as good as Cathy's.

Are her ends supposed to look like that, even when her hair is flat ironed and curled? :/

Those ends are past their prime! They are thirsty looking.:nono:

She doesn't look well-groomed with those ends.

Cathy is not listening to you guys:

Eight years later. The pictures above are all from 1997. Remember that I do not trim my hair, so it's not very straight. As you can see, it has not hampered my hair growth one bit. I don't believe it's necessary and I am living proof that trimming is not necessary to grow hair.

So she's not really bothered that y'all don't like her ends.

Mehhh her hair is okay and her ends need a trim. Not Impressed. All these years it should have been much longer and healthier

Her hair looks better in those pics than it does in the video, IMO.

That could be because the hair is curled under in those pics. To me it looks better in the YT vid, if we're talking about the same one that was posted before (I didn't click the link). In the pics above it looks thin like it's been wearing away.

I didn't watch the vid posted today coz I've seen her channel before--when it was first posted in this forum. I still think the same thing I thought then: http://www.longhaircareforum.com/showpost.php?p=13013513&postcount=20

The vid in your link and the vid in this thread are of the same vid. I don't have a problem with her ends. I just like the style better in your posted pics over the style in the vids. In the pics you posted it looks like it has more body and seems thicker to me. But her hair is alright either way.

Really? From my comment in that previous thread, you can see I saw the opposite from you. I guess beauty is indeed in the eye of the beholder. I find the hair in her pics to have less body and lifeless. I find it fuller and thicker in her vid.

I assumed the improvement was her having learned better haircare methods over time...or because her hair isn't double processed (relaxed then flatironed/hot curled like it was in '97)...but just single "processed" (natural and just straightened)...which IMO would be less "cuticle torture" (manipulation?) for her hair--for want of a better word.

Yes, I remember reading her saying something about hair still showing length regardless of not trimming. So for those who don't want to trim until they get to a certain length, she is an example that's it's possible.:yep:

Thanks - I thought we had a thread about this before.

Funny how we all look at the same thing and we all see something different. :spinning:

I don't know but the hair in the pics you posted looks like she could easily whip it back and forth

Oh well .... I do agree that she probably doesn't care what we think.

Girl, if I styled my hair like hers and left if hanging down, you'd think I could whip it back and forth, this is an old pic with my hair down:

But the truth of the matter is, there's no whipping happening with that mane: Hello?
