you know my mum uses castor oil on my young nephew's hair, why didn't I think of using this! She says it used to work really well on her hair (she's doesn't fuss with her hair much nowadays).

I must give it a try! Do any of you use it as a hot oil treatment? Do you dilute it if applying directly to hair?

I like using castor oil, I just got some more, not the black kind, but I want too look for that, but I used it on my hair and it is really soft, and my eyelashes, I dont know if my eyebrows are growing thicker or better, but I rub some on there, is anyone drinking castor oil ?

The article mentioned using it on the skin for acne or black spots ...has anyone here had any luck with that?

Ballet Bun ...

It's hard to imagine smearing oil all over your face can actually help it. I wonder, too, if anyone has tried castor oil on their face...I do know that I mixed it into my sulfur 8 and applied it to my length and ends and it stopped the breakage...

If it helps with acne spots, I will be very happy, I have not problem smearing it on

I use castor oil on my face before retouching my hair with a relaxer. It keeps the chemicals from getting on my face when I rinse. And my face is so smooth and soft when I wash it afterwards.

I forgot to add that I bought it to use on my new growth to soften it. I have "ultra-pure cold pressed castor oil".

This is one of the only oils that actually makes a difference in my hair when used as a pre-treatment. I need to buy more. I used pure haitian castor oil and it made my hair so soft and shiny for the whole week. This is a definite repurchase in my regime, esp since the winter is here.

I just realized that no one responded to this. Does anyone know how castor oil stimulates growth?

I love using it as a preshampoo treatment. Warming it up seems to thin the consistency so it's not so hard to spread through my hair. I also love to use it on my hair, post-shampoo, while it's still wet. When my hair dries, it's so shiny! But I still don't know if it contributed to my growth.

Anyone?

I wanted to know too and I found one explanation on how Castor Oil promotes hair growth. I'm sure there are other sources...

"Castor Oil - Used in our soaps as a moisturizing base oil, it is one of nature's great humectant oils. Castor oil draws moisture out of the air and helps the skin and hair retain their moisture balance."

All the stuff that is good for soap is good for our hair lol. I've done alot of researching on castor oil, but I still don't know what makes it stimulating. I started using this with some vit. E

Beana; can you get the pure Haitian Castor oil on the web or at a specific store. Where do you get yours? thank you. I would really love to try it> I will also ask Henna Joy if she can get me some of the Haitian and the Jamaican Black. Bonjour.

I read somewhere that castor oil on your face causes wrinkles. It works wonders in my hair though--been using for years. I prefer it heated with conditioner or on damp hair with conditioner to style. I guess it's all-purpose.
