I really enjoy castor oil. Thanks for posting the links!! I love getting information /images/graemlins/smile.gif

I remember a long time ago when I first had hairline issues, warmed castor oil brought that area back fast.

Also since it's a little colder, I'm using this as a hot oil treatment.

Thanks for the link. I too wanted to know all the good properties of caster oil. When I was a child my grandmother would use it in my hair and swore that it made the hair thicker and longer, but it makes my hair itch so much. I would like to use it more often again.

Thanks

I agree with you guys. Castor oil rocks! I've enjoyed using it on wet hair. That seems to do best for me...just glossy, glossy locks /images/graemlins/grin.gif

Brownie, I'm going to add this place to your list:
Mountain Rose Herbs

You know guys, one of the things I love with this board is that it shines a spotlight on a lot of items I never considered before. My mom used to give us Castor oil as a cleansing laxative. To hear that it's good for hair is so great. I love this! /images/graemlins/smile.gif

i have been using castor oil on my edges (braids took them away) for about a month and they are filling in nicely!! i love the shine factor too! /images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Hello Tara,
I've never tried castor oil warmed before. Actually that sounds pretty good. I might try that tonight. The last batch I bought was from Cedar Vale. It was a 32 oz bottle and it only costed $8, and since it's so thick it lasts a long time. I had some vitamin E oil that I bought from Wal-mart (it wasn't pure;it included coconut and soybean oil), anyway, I mixed the Vitamin E oil with the castor oil, along with Rosemary and Peppermint oil, and so far I'm liking the mixture.

Brownie that sounds YUMMY!! I love Rosemary and Peppermint oil anyway, so I might whip up a batch tonight!

When I remember I like to give myself a scalp massage (aside from when I wash my hair)because it totally relaxes me, so this is going to be a treat to my scalp tonight.

Thanks! /images/graemlins/grin.gif

I love castor oil, too! I just recently started using the actual oil
after discovering how moisturized and soft a product called
BB Castor Oil Hair Lotion was making my hair.

Now, I've used the actual oil as a hot oil treatment (with Rosemary &
Sage oils added in) and I really like it! It really made my
highlights stand out!

Great stuff!

i use castor oil daily right after i apply my moisturizer. i love how it makes my hair feel. Sometimes i apply it to my eyebrows , it makes them grow faster.

Good tip Madison. I'm gonna try this at night cause my eyebrows are kinda thin, and I go NOWHERE without a light penciling in.

hmm, I could stand to have thicker eyebrows, they are s thin and wispy, and my hairline needs some attention lately because of the braids that I am wearing.

If you can STAND taking it orally, it will moisturizes the skin (from inside out) My mom said she gave it to us when we were little to help heal scars.

Castor oil is good for eyebrows huh? I will have to try it for sure.

i used to use it on my lashes as well to make them thicker and longer. it did work. but i had to stop because the lashes would get into my eyes. God bless you all.

Oh what a beautiful problem to have! /images/graemlins/laugh.gif

I was told that I had long lashes, but I would like them LONGER! /images/graemlins/wink.gif

I'm not trying to be daft, but does anyone know how castor oil stimulates growth? Thanks in advance for your response(s).

My only problem with castor oil(love it otherwise) is that it drips down my forhead all the times, often causing me to look greasy. Sometiimes, I even break out.

[/ QUOTE ]don't you rub/massage it in once you apply it to your scalp or hair???????"

Thanks ladies! You are always so informative I have some castor oil and I wasn't sure if I was suppose to just rub it in daily for the hair line or heat if first or just use it as a hot oil treatment or ...what because it is so thick!

...humm it works for the eyebrows also...nice to know

Eyebrows and eyelashes.....ooooh interesting.....I may have to try this....my brother has long eyelashes and he doesn't even appreciate them......figures......the ones who doesn't want them always gets them......anyway, anyone know where I can purchase empty mascara containers???????

I have been using castor oil for the past two months. I simply mix it with whatever leave in conditoner that I am using. I like how it makes my hair feel.

I have not had any itching as I did when I was younger. Maybe this castor oil I am now using is more refine.

It's especially nice for the ends of my hair. I love it!

It is my favorite oil! It makes my hair super soft. I apply it to my new growth, it makes it super soft and manageable. Now mixing it with coconut oil helps make the new growth soft and kind of straight. Especially when it is applied right before my shower -- the steam does the trick I believe.

wow this is great to know

my fav product is hesh castor,

, I hope to buy more and some regural castor oil

Yes, Sherry, I do rub it in as best I can. But it always seems to seep down in my face. It doesn't drip like teardrops and sometimes it is nearly invisible, but I can still feel it on my skin. I may be using too much oil, though. How much would you use each time?( Your hair is longer than mine)

I didnt know there were so many uses (birth control?). anyway. i saw some at vitamin world and whole foods (i forget the brand), but it says nothing about hair. is it still ok to use for hair?

I just went to buy Castor oil today at a local healthfood store. I will go home, trim my hair, wash and deep condition it, then apply Castor oil and then braid it down. Luckily tomorrow at work, I have to attend a healthfair at a park so dressdown is the attire. I will braid my hair into 11 or so dudu braids (as I can't braid) and tie a headwrap.

My 4B hair has some crazy dry ends, hopefully the castor oil will help.
