How and when should castor oil be used on natural hair?

You can use a little when you deep condition, or as a sealant when you moisturize.

I use it in a pre-poo treatment, or deep condition, I use it to moisturize and lay down my edges mixed with a lil aloe vera gel, I sometimes oil my scalp with it and seal my ends

I use it everyday as a sealant. I also mix it with coconut oil. I LOVE:lick: the smell of coconut oil so I put a ratio of more coconut oil than castor. I rub it throughout my entire head of hair. Love it!

I mix it with aloe vera gel and then put my scarf on to add shine and tame my frizzy edges. I love that stuff. I recommended it to my mom who has a thinning spot. She is relaxed but it grew her hair back thick, fast!

I use it on wash day after I rinse my DC and add the moisturizer.

I use it to seal after I moisturize on damp hair, and on the ends of my twists. I also add it to my deep conditioners.

I use it as a sealant mixed with coconut oil as a 1:1 ratio. I also include it in my conditioner when I DC. Love it. It makes my hair real soft. When I was a little girl, my mom used to put castor oil in my hair grease. It helped my hair to grow back quickly after it got cut.

I agree with what everyone said. I mainly use it for sealing my ends but occasionally ( I have really dry scalp) I will use it on my scalp. It's a stimulant so it won't clog the pores and my scalp and hair seem to just soak it right up :). It has no heavy smell, to me, and I love the consistency of it to rub through my hair while twisting, smoothing back, etc. Plus it's cheap!

I use it at times as a prepoo and Sometimes at night it really softens my relax hair, the next morning.:drunk:
