For you ladies that swear by these, do you use them on hair that has been air dried, or hair that has been previously straightened by wrapping or by blowdrying?

I tried on air dried hair and it came out

As a result I haven't used them in about a year.

kaela,

i use mine on air dryed hair because that's normally what i do is airdry, but i have used them after a touch and blowout also.

Thanks ms J

how do you keep the hair nearest to the roots from getting a frizzed look?
Would you mind sharing your method?

i either do a little wild growth oil beforehand or some serum..then use mousse throughout, then just section it off and roll it with whatever size rollers i want to use. i then use a handheld dryer on cool for about 1 min and run it over the rollers to combat the dampness from the steam. i also find that shaking the excess dampness from the steam off the rollers before rolling the hair helps alot. i have never had a problem with my roots frizzing. hth.

Thanx so much

There used to be a brand of mousse that I really used to like...in a pink and white can. I will have to seek that out...

I think blowdrying is better. I remember reading another thread where results were better this way. I use mine to maintain the curl a few days after my rollerset (but no blowdrying, I'm on a no heat challenge!!)

I would def blow dry first. When you airdry (or atleast when I do) my hair gets little ripples/waves in it all along the length. So when you curl using the rollers after air drying, it's not going to look smooth. It's going to look a fool mess, too many textures going on

I don't use heat but I do airdry in a rollerset. Airdrying in a rollerset using magnetic rollers smooth and straighten the hair as blowdrying does, except its a healthier way. Then I style as desired, whether it's using Caruso rollers (as in my avatar) or other styles.

I always air dry. Apply mango butter let it dry. Then use steam rollers with end papers. I love the results It gives pletny of body.
