steph, these rollers are not for setting the hair. they're more for using in the morning after having your hair done and wrapped the night before (relaxed or natural). ya know?

adrienne is right

i have some carusos and i love them. i don't use them alot (maybe once every 3 or 4 months) but they work really well. i get curls that LAST unlike if i use a curling iron (which i don't use much either about every 3 or 4 months also) i use them after my hair is in a bun or whatever. they work whether you have a fresh relaxer or months of new growth

great investment.

Also they dont straighten the hair like rollerset, curlng iron or wrap would do. Basically, they add curl.

Thanks ya'll, since they don't straighten hair, I'm wandering if I should invest in this, I was going to try using the rollers then flat iron my hair, because I don't want to use the blowdryer, how do you think it would react with natural hair, I haven't seen my hair straightened/pressed to it's fullest length since 2002(after my braider pressed and singed the back of my hair off I have been afraid to get another press, I was bored and had an idea to let my braider press my hair in the middle of the summer in Texas

) I should have known better) that's what happens when I'm bored I come up with these crazy ideas.
I have an idea of my hair length just from stretching and pulling but I kinda wanted to see it straight.

Thanks again.

I used these before because I wanted to get away from using a curling iron. They give you curls like a roller set. The trick is to leave these in long enough for your hair to dry from the steam. Take them out to soon and your curls will frizz right up. I stopped using them because my thick, holding water hair would take too long to dry with these and my curls would frizz. When I happened to get it right (usually at night) the curls lasted a couple days.

Yes, I love them on my dry hair (my hair is relaxed though). I like the fact that it puts moisture in my hair. I use these regularly on my bangs and the curls last and last. And it curls quickly too, like in a couple of minutes!
(I just realized I sound just like a commercial!

I use these on my hair once in a while but my hair is relaxed. I think they would work well on natural hair that has been flatironed or pressed. After rolling my hair, I use a blowdryer on medium heat for about one minute to help my hair dry from the steam. This is recommended in the directions that come with the rollers and it doesn't damage my hair since I only use it for a minute. I let my hair cool off for another couple of minutes before removing the rollers so that the curls hold their shape.

I use them on dry hair without a rollerset, what I do is put them in then go under my hooded dryer for ten to fifteen minuted to really lock my curl in. I dont have to have a rollerset for my curls to last.

For those of you who use the Caruso rollers, maybe you can answer my question. I looked at pics online and it appears that these rollers are sponge, does this cause breakage to your hair being that sponge rollers normally pull on your hair? Thanks

No, they don't cause any breakage keeping in mind that they are in your hair for about 10-15 min. They actually moisten your hair and don't damage hair at all. You can use end papers with them. I love them. Usually I air dry and then use them daily for curl. I did a review on them in my fotoki.

Thanks Serenitybreeze. I was looking through your album and I loved the results on your hair so I started doing some research on the Caruso rollers. You've inspired me to purchase them. I think of it as a birthday present for myself. Can I purchase the end paper at any BSS? Thanks

I have the Revlon Steam Rollers..I thought I liked them, but I don't know. They leave my hair too moist and can you say "FRIZZ CITY" I have been rolling my hair up at night with regular rollers, because I got tired of the frizz. Even leaving them on the steamer for 5-8 seconds, paper at the ends, and serum, I would still get a lot of frizz. I pretty much put them up and will only use them if I am too lazy to roll my hair up at night.

For anyone looking to purchase the Caruso steam rollers 30 piece set, I went to Sally's last night and it was on sale for $27. You cant really beat that price so I purchased it.

Thanks Chestnutblonde! I've been thinking about getting these for a while. I thought they were more expensive, now that I know they're not, I think I will get them! :)
