Carrot oil

Can someone tell me the benefits of using carrot oil on the hair? How does it measure up to some of the more popular oils, such as jojoba and coconut?
 
I find that carrot oil is very good for breakage. I use carrot oil daily on my ends. Coconut oil is fantastic for shine and it seems to relax the curl a bit in my hair. As far as sheen goes none of the other oils I've tried can compare to it. These are two staples that I keep in my arsenal.
 
Infused carrot oil is wonderful for your hair. It's very high in beta carotene and vitamin e. I've found it to be extremely concentrated and wonderful for mixing with other carrier oils, as well as alone.

A fav hot oil treatment is olive with some carrot. Excellent in the winter to combat extra dryness.

I would highly recommend that you try it.

Can't deal with coconut oil, except the virgin at Nature's Wild Child.com and I LOVE jojoba for my ends.

If I had to contrast, infused carrot oil is one of the richest oils on the planet. And, it does bring plenty of shine to your hair.

CARROT OIL IS THE BOOOMMMMMMMBBB!!
I've been using it for almost two years and it has done wonders for my hair. The ORS carot oil really promotes growth for my hair and stops breakage. But you really have to be consistent. Maybe every day or every other day yoU'll start seeing some results. In the stores..... the ORS is about 6-8 dollars. Its kind of expensive, but it really does work. I haven't been hearing too much talk about carrot oil..... all I know is that its great. I even started my mom on some carrot oil!! CAN YOU BELEIVE IT??? MISS BUDGET HERSELF!!
 
Carrot oil is too greasy for me . I find it breaks my hair when i rub it through it i see hair in my hands. but it does leave your hair moisturized all day

I've been using ors carrot oil on my ends twice a day since last week. I hated the smell at first but now I love it! I'm wondering how you're using it to see hair growth...are you putting it on your scalp or hair close to your scalp? I don't mind the price...I have to use so little to coat my ends, I think it will last a long time and it's much cheaper than some salon products!

yes I actually put it on my scalp. I don't know whether its the amino acids or what. See I have cornrows so basically I have easy access to my scalp. I massage it in my scalp 4 times a week and its pretty good. I see growth immediately 4 days afterwards. I'm serious!!!
 
Cool deal...I am running out of my cd healthy hair butter ($$) which I had been using on my scalp so I think I may go ahead and use the carrot oil since I have breakage problems. Glad to hear it's been helping with growth, too!
 
maybe my hair just doesnt like it lol or its damaged and i dont know it. It does make my hair softer and i notice increased growth but it still breaks alot

AND how do you comb your hair?? Because that is very important. If you have read www.growafrohairlong.com
and have seen the methods that Robin uses to comb hair it really stops breakage. And in what direction do you wash your hair??
 
well any suggestions because i really dont know lol i use the plastic pick by the way the metal breaks my hair more.
 
Hairfanatic only after 4 days!! u serious? I have the Africa's Best kind of carrot oil kinda orange in color and kinda thick , creamy. I never paid it any mind until u just mentioned that. What type of hair do u have? What brand do u use? Just curious here!
 
i've noticed increased growth immediately after i used organic root stimulator carrot oil but again doesnt do me much good because i still have breakage lol
 
I started my regime with carrot oil. It kept my ends "polished" & gave a nice sheen to my hair. I was told that it minimizes breakage... i really can't vouch for that only cuz I wasn't experiencing any breakage prior to using it.

Dejuan, try mixing a little extra virgin olive oil into your ORS Carrot Oil...

When I first starting using the ORS Carrot Oil it made my hair hard, but at the advice of LondonDiva..I added the EVOO and it made a huge difference in the product. My hair felt much better with it. I think Beana3 adds oil to hers too, although I think she uses Wild Growth Oil. You may want to drop LondonDiva or Beana a PM to see how they like it!

I really see growth after 4-5 days. I mean after I finish using it for a few days I can actually see new growth coming up in the bottom of my cornrows. But really..... you should try it out!!!!
 
woow hair fanatic! lucky! well i looked at the ingredients and they are practically the same. Africa's best is supposed to be the same as ORS except cheaper but i gues ill wait and see how it works. I'm in braids and i have a lot of new growth already but i just wanna see what this will do for my hair...
 
I LOVE carrot oila s does my hair. ANyone else use this as a staple? I do not put it on my ends but after reading this I am going to start!

Tonya, are you talking about the ORS carrot oil?
 
Hey Britt,
I think she means the real oil..

I use the creme and i like it alot. Ya'll going to have me running to the store for the oil.
 
I might have to get the oil but I also use the ORS carrot cream for breakage and castor.coconut oil for sheen.

Ohhhhhhh I see, where do you get pure carrot oil ? A health food store?

Most BSS have carrot oil with their other oils..i have only seen a small bottle of it though. Check your BSS it will be near the teatreeoil, shea butter oil, and etc..
