Carolyn\'s Gray Book

I just put my pre- order in for the book which will be available in two weeks. How many others will be ordering this book?

Re: Carolyn\'s Gray Book

I don't think I will be. I was'nt that wowed by the first one only because of the repetitiveness. She could have saved pages by saying (see drying method page) cause that is repeated at least 6 times.

Don't get me wrong, I love her.

I loved the no heat styling tips.
The Caruso tip.
And of course the Ponytail Method.

Those things were very valuable to me, Apart from that I did'nt feel it was worth the price.

Unless the reviews come back stellar, and there's much more to offer from the first. I don't think I will (although that 15% off is tempting) And she looks great on the cover

Re: Carolyn\'s Gray Book

Since revisiting her web site today I don't think I will purchase her new book.

I never read her first book but, read a lot of useful information on her website alone.

Re: Carolyn\'s Gray Book

I ordered it. I'm looking forward to reading the new things she's learned since the last edition.

Re: Carolyn\'s Gray Book

I won't be buying her book. I've never purchased any hair care books (only magazines). However, someone was nice enough to give me one of Cathy Howse's books. I passed it along after I read it. Besides, I'm learning so much at this wonderful forum.

for those of you that are interested in reading her first book there is a way to get a copy of it free of charge, no shipping and handling either

Re: Carolyn\'s Gray Book

I found this last week when LHCF was down. This link was posted in a thread on the RHC board. Just go to: www.blackwomansguide.com/sys-tmpl/contactinformation/
send an email requesting a user name and password which you will need to download the book. You will get a reply in less than 24 hours with the user name and pass word. after receiving it, you need to go ahead and download it to 31/2 floppy or like I did to my document on my c drive. after receving you user name and password, you will have two days to download the book before the username and password expires. There is a lot of useful information there, a lot of which I'm doing already, just not in the exact order she perscribes.

Re: Carolyn\'s Gray Book

I just ordered a copy too. Her first book was useful for me, so I figured...why not try this. Besides, I love to read about haircare. It keeps me motivated to keep up with my regimen.

I agree Mindymouse, I was very excited when I got the book 3 almost 4 years ago. But I was a bit dissapointed when I realized that weeks 2-5 are exactly the same except different shampoos are put in place of the previous chapters. I did like the pictures though. I think the book overall was good because it was large (larger than CH's) and had more color photos of hair.

I think I will just keep my book and wait for her hints to come out. I will do the same thing for CH.

Boy Allandra you must save a fortune when it comes to haircare....or do you just allocate it to other hair goodies?

Re: Carolyn\'s Gray Book

I don't think I really spend a lot on hair care goodies (especially since I'm on the hair care product challenge until December 31, 2003).
