Carols daughter experience?

:yep: BV Smoove is my joint! I also use, and love, the BV Shampoo, Healthy Hair butter, Marguerite's Magic, and Monoi conditioner. Oh, and that Khoret Amen Smoothie and oil. It stanks but works great.

Khoret amen is the the truth, even after we changed the formula... Yes she did! The BV is really good too. I just hate all the glycerin.

I found CD to be overpriced, underwhelming and greasy as all get out.

And I swear they dump a whole bottle of fragrance into each and every container they sell.

HTH!
All this! Hate that line. And the products that arent greasy are waxy and sticky feeling on the hands and hair. I am not sensitive to smells at all, so this is big: it feels like you are bathing in artificial fragrances that NEVER dissipate--the perfumes last ALL DAY! They are so overwhelming they've made me nauseous.

Monoi deep conditioner: Left my hair dry and dull, and a thick waxy film on my scalp. I used it twice same result. I love to put my dc on my roots/scalp cause i want my whole head to get the nourishing ingredients.
Monoi leave in: got it for the split end mending factor, but i BC before i got to use it more than twice. I gave both products away.
Macadamia heat setting lotion: i am not sure of how great a heat protectant it is since it does not have any cone, but i really liked this product. I used both as a transitioner, and a natural. Give me nice bouncy and shiny curls from rollersetting (airdry), and soft hair after a blowdry.
Healthy hair butter: my sister used this to twit my hair once, the smell was ok, and the definition was great. My hair was pretty shiny too.

I originally wrote a more detailed review with scent and consistency but it just disappeared. But i see you have already made up your mind about the line so i kept it short.

CD Hair elixir is a staple of mine. I also use her Rosemary clarifying shampoo. It's really concentrated and I go through 1 1/2 to 2 bottles a year. I use to use the hair milk on my ends to re twist my hair at night when I did twist and curls. But I bun now. One thing that I did notice is that a little really does go a long way with some of her products.

If you want to try them without paying full price, wait until they offer the $5 memberships where you get 10% off and free shipping. They usually have a down discount day and some of the value sets will be on clearance.

I was looking on the carols daughter website and everything on there looked so tempting!

I was just wondering if anyone has had much experience with any of the lines and which ones are the best

Hated it! I bought just about everything for hair that she had at that time because I wanted to be supportive. It was the absolute worst.

I like the Black Vanilla shampoo and smoothie.
The Hair balm does not protect from heat ,it caused heat damage to my hair back in 2008.
Hair mimosa: smells nice ,its a thick ,greasy, waxy paste that i see no purpose for .
Hair butter : i used to like this one ,very greasy but gave my hair softness and definition.
Rosemary shampoo: too harsh for my hair ,very stripping.
Leave ins: they re perfumed water ,i like them aa hair perfumes .
Tui oil: sticky, heavy corn oil, smells great though.
Hair Elixir: don't see the use for this one,it smells minty and thats it ,nothing special about it.

I love CD s body butters and bath oils . They re great, make my skin super soft and a little goes a long way.

Their packagaing is very attractive ,i want to buy them everytime i see them lol.

I love their hair milk pudding a little goes a long way. I was going to go over to ulta today and get the leave ins but ill pass on water perfume.. I sure they are just that.. they seem to not have great reviews..AND they are 20 bucks a pop. I was just trying to find something on ground

The Mimosa Hair Honey is greasy and has a strong odor. In a way, I like it, because it gives you a nice shine, but I don't know its purpose. It's not moisturizing at all and it's kind of pricey to be a purposeless product .

Carols Daughter full size Chocolat smoothing kit is $25 today on Groupon. It's $59 for the kit in SEPHORA and the blow dry cream is $18 alone! It smells sooooo good.

I like anything black vanilla and the healthy hair butter and hair balm. My whole family, including my husband uses the healthy hair butter. I do not use her products for loose styling like a wash and go, none of them work for my hair. I mainly use her products for cleansing/conditioning and braid/twist styling.

I use the hair milk on dd hair and that's about it, products are way too pricey to be sampling her other products..

Believe it or not I'm actually really curious about the Monoi Oil Sacred Strengthening Serum but the $30 tag is keeping me away...

Their stuff is crap. Good for ceramides but that's it. Main oils used are such like corn oil or safflower oil... oils that by themselves are 5 bucks for a huge bottle. Then they are filled with fragrance which gives me headaches... I like things that smell nice but the smell is ridiculously strong for a product that is supposed to be natural. I have the monoi oil and its ingredients are subpar and its scent is awful. I have the chocolate blowdry cream and it wasn't impressive; my hair gets straighter without it and it did not resist humidity. I'll try it again now that I'm in a place that isn't humid.

They have curly hair milk which works okay, but is just too greasy and again the smell... It takes awhile to wash out my hair. And I have the macadamia frizz fighting heat protectant... now this smells great but its pretty greasy and hard to use just the right amount... the sparing amount required doesn't do a good job... I prefer my victoria secret serum.

All in all I give them a -7870796067067 out of 10. I want my money back. :look:

I like the mimosa hair honey, healthy hair butter, and Margarite's magic. I used them the same way I use grease, so if you like to use grease, these are non petroleum product that is just as greasy

to look into if its carried in the uk would be komaza care:yep:

an addtional product line
Her products are greasy, waxy, and leave build-up on my 3c-4a strands that took a month to wear off even with clarifying. I used them before she became mass marketed and now i notice the ingredients in her products have gotten crappier but they weren't all that great to begin with. You'd be better off using karen's body beautiful, qhemet biologics, or darcy's botanicals if you can get access to them in the UK.

thanks everyone, I'm surprised to hear some of these reviews.

I'm very surprised to see some of these reviews. I just bought the hair milk conditioning co-wash because I was looking for a shampoo that was sulfate and paraben free. Since I just went to Ulta today and did not use it, maybe they will let me return it.

I remember once I had ordered some Carol's Daughter products and after ordering them decided to come here and check out a few reviews. I was surprised and appalled. It scared the crap outta me. When I did receive the order, I was too scared to try them so I sent them back. I keep saying one day, I'm gonna give her smoothies a try but I just get so scared.
