Any suggestions on what to put on my freshly cut ends to keep them from splitting!! What moisterizers are you using and how often??

I tend to rotate through my product line when I do my ends, but after every wash, I coat my ends with both Profectiv Healthy Ends & BTZ Split Mender. Most nights (generally 4 or 5 nights out of the week), I sleep with the baggie with Healthy Ends, Split Mender, and either Carrot Oil Creme or Elasta QP Recovery. I've been using the Healthy Ends for 3 months and have added the Split Mender and baggie method to my regimen a month ago and I haven't seen a split end yet! :D

I use KeraCare oil and the oil I told you my mom made for me. And as of late I've been wearing it in a bun and the ends have been doing pretty good. I usually oil them every other day or every three days. And now its' pretty much every four days when I wash my hair.

scurl no drip, mtg, l'huile masqueti/WGO/Amla mixture--baggie

Ditto on the castor oil at night a few times a week - no baggie for me. It's heavy so I cut it with EVOO. Sometimes I use Sta-sof-fro first and then the oils to seal.

Be careful with the products marketed for your ends. Some contain protein and have been known to cause problems with ongoing use.

Very interesting post. I was thinking the same thing. I started to use castor oil and mango butter(mainly to make my hair smell good) My hair doesn't like the baggie:( My hair doesn't like the profectiv healthy ends either

I like to use pure vitamin E oil on my ends. It seems to really nourish and moisturize! I've also found that hair honey (made by Carol's Daughter or Akiva) works great on my ends as well!

My hair adores Shea Butter Oil by mega care. It moisturises my hair so much and it smells so gooood. I put it in the morning and at night i put it on before I put my sleeping cap on.

I use Asha's Heavenly Hair Pudding every 2 to 3 days when I'm 9 or more weeks post texturizer & Aubrey Organics GPB on my ends one or two times per week when I'm many weeks post touch-up (I like using GPB much better as a leave-in protein strengthener for my ends than as a rinse out conditioner). I also use KeraCare Essential Oils or Design Essentials Botanical Oils on my ends at night about a week after a touch-up and a week after getting my hair freshly done.

Stay so fro and Elasta Mango butter or

WGO or Giovanni Direct

I use pure shea butter on my ends.Sometimes i switch up and use aloe vera oil/juice,and coconut oil.
I notice my hair thrives on naturel oils.My hair hates all profective products, especially healthy ends. :perplexed

I want to know how many of you wear your hair down and what products are you using?? B/c I tend to wear my hair down mostly!!

Co-signing on the pure shea butter (unrefined). I put this on after washing and then I put my hair in a bun.

As far as wearing my hair down, I rarely do this but when I do I use Kemi Oyl or my own oil mix (jojoba, castor, olive, sweet almond and grapeseed w/ rosemary and lavendar EO) on my ends. I also like ORS carrot oil and EQP Recovery.

I usually wear my hair down especially now that I'm trying to avoid ponytails. When its air dried, which is mostly the case, I always have some conditioner in it that I leave in (like Dove, Tresemme,etc..).
On top of that I'll coat the ends and roots with a hair honey and/or alcohol free gel (Aussie and Graham Web are my current faves). If its extra humid out or my curls need extra help than I'll do an all over coat of spray gel (Herbal essence or Pantene).
On any given day its safe to assume I have 3 to 4 different products going on in my hair.

I wear my hair down EVERY SINGLE DAY :look: . Because I don't want oils to weigh my hair down....I only put oil on my ends ONLY when my hair is wet and I'm drying it. Then every day I use a dab of UBH creme cond before I style. at nite, every 2 days or so I'll use EQP mango butter...but i'm very light with this because the protein will make my hair barely hard. If i feel the need for oil, I use Mizani shyne hair sheen. Or I'll apply a dab of hot 6 at nite.... every once in a while wen i feel like using something different I'll use Mizani rose H20 instead of UBH...Or i'll use Surge Moisture Aide at nite....

so far UBH is working for me...it smells like scurl and i reckon it's the exact same thing but just in a creamy form. it doesn't contain protein, which makes me happy. :)

Thanks!! I had that Rosewater stuff along time ago!! I actually havethat moisture aide by Surge (haven't even opened)> I want to know how exactly to keep ends looking good and still be able to wear my hair down! I want my ends to stay like this!!! It looks so much better!!! How are you preparing your hair at night for the nest day??

I wear my hair down every day and I used to (I don't anymore) but I used to put castor oil on my ends and night lightly and then in the mornings I would lightly mist my hair with Elasta QP's H-Two. My ends were the best when I was doing this...Hmm, I need to go back to this.

WHy did you stop then???? What is the consistenc of this product???

I wear my hair down about 4 days of the week. Every night I mix Dudley's PCA moisturizer, Surge moisture Aide, & Nexxus Botanical essential oils together. -- Everything together ends up being a quarter size.

I rub my hands together and distribute it to the ends making sure I reach the ends of my shortest layers in the back of my head which are about nape legenth.

I then twist my hair together, make another dime size mix and kinda "wring" my ends with product on palms all the way to ends. This really guaranties to me that all ends are being treated since I have layers.

I make a quick and dirty "up do" with the twist and pin up avoiding tension on the hair with a horse shoe shaped pin.

In the morning, my ends feel nice and conditioned there a no bend marks because I did not put plenty tension on them and the steam from my daily caruso rollers aids in the penetration of products.

My last trim was in January and dust in May. So far no split ends at all.

when my hair was long enough, i used tigi bedhead ego boost on my wet ends. and i load my hair with oils daily on dry hair. shea butter especially cos i noticed i never experienced breakage on my ends when i had shea butter on it. and yeah, i wrap a plastic bag around it to seal the moisture and to encourage steam

I wear my hair down every day. I put 100% pure jojoba oil and NTM Serum on my ends every morning. I put NTM Silk Touch Cream on my ends every night.

Sweetpeadst - Do you have a seamless comb?

Do you have a pic of your pinned up night due??? I would like to see the finished product!

I put on my freshly washed hair my leave-in conditioner, Castor/EVOO oil with a few drops of peppermint EO, and my gel curl activator. I do this every other day. I do the baggie method nightly. For that I use my Castor/EVOO/peppermint oil mix and Blue Magic Coconut Oil or Healthy Ends on the ends. If I were to wear my hair down, I use Pantene R&N cream oil moisturizer and Proclaim glossing polish all throughout my hair and ends. And I haven't seen any split ends since using the products and the baggie thingie. My hair just can't seem to stop feeling moisturized.

Thanks Serenity!! I need a good regimen to keep my ends looking fresh! Where did you get the PCA and the essential oils and what is the name of the essential oils by Nexus?? Botanic oils??
