Can\'t find the right search results

How do I find the really "old" search results...I've went to the search page and typed in the criteria I'm looking for and "how far back" I want them to search, instead all I get is current search results from this year, and more specifically this month..there is no way for me to get access to the "old boards" I've seen other people pull out archives and link them all the time..how do they access it so fast? Especially since all you get are "current" boards in your search....please explain.

I was having trouble, too. I was adding too many spaces. For example I was searching for info on roller setting natural hair. I was typing plus sign (space) natural (space) roller. Then I did it with no spaces at all.

It should be plus sign natural (space) plus sign roller. This is how Nikos explained it to me--

It works fine, all you have to do is use +natural +roller and it will pick up the posts that have those two words present in the body. Just tested it.
