Can you make a comb seamless?

If you were to take something, like an emery board maybe, and file the edges of the seam until they were smooth, would this make a comb seamless or would the filed down edges then be too rough to not cause damage?

Some hair "experts" recommend this method, I think if you got a fine enough emery board it might work, perhaps a metal file. But if it's too coarse I think it'll be worse than if you didnt file if at all - think super coarse jagged edges! Most combs aren't that bad tho, I just use a product with some slip, none of my combs are seamless and I dont have any problems HTH =)
