Is it possible or do u have keep it in for a while before it's time to take it out?

It depends on your adhesive and application, however most people apply full lace wigs to stay for longer hold than a day or so, they are meant for a longer wear time, some of the adhesives claim to give a 1-4 week hold and that's what many want, well at least 1- 2 weeks before they have to re-apply.
Me personally, when I first started wearing them 2 years ago I would apply them with an adhesive and/or tape to get the longest hold and I was wearing the full lace wig with the lace around the whole perimeter so you had to adhere the nape area as well-Now keep in mind that every adhesive/tape does not work for everybody the same way-due to skin chemistry-oils..etc.. But some of the adhesives out there can give a pretty tight hold and going thru the process of applying and taking it off in the same day can be a lil difficult.
Nowadays I tend to wear l lace front wigs (lace only around the hairline-straps in bcak) more and apply a thin layer of an adhesive thats not SUPER GLUE STRONG, but strong enough to where it is not going to come off during the day of course, so I can remove it every nite with a lil help from a bottle of 91% alcohol, for me I need the freedom of nothing on my head at night when I sleep.

Most wearers do go for the longer hold. I think there are some tapes you can use for 1 or 2 day hold. You could also try synthetic lace front wigs which do not require glue or tape.
There are also techniques for pinning the wigs or attaching wig clips as well.
