I've been emailing my girls like crazy and one of them sent me this. My questions to you ladies is:

- Do you think this is her natural hair or a texturizer?
- If you believe the latter, what would one's natural hair texture have to be to achieve this?
- Lastly, do you think this is some sort of 'curly' set?

My moms natural but thats what my moms hair looks like before she combs it... Her hair is that lentgh when curly, but 3-4 inchs from bra lentgh when pulled..

That's how my hair looks. Just about the same texture but a little longer all over. I love my hair, and I also love wearing it out now because it looks so healthy...

I don't think this beautiful woman has a texturizer. That's all her...au naturale...very beautiful!!!

Looks like a natural shake and go to me.

She probably condition washed...added some type of leave in...shook her head...and being that her natural texture was that coily...this is how it turned out.

ETA: Her hair reminds me of Asha's hair on this site (DelaSeoul)...her shake and go looks very similar...and she is NATURAL.

The longer your hair is the more stretched out your curls/coils are.

Yes! It depends on your natural hair texture and the size of the person's natural curls. When my hair was more layered it would have looked like that if it wasn't so darn thick.

It looks natural. My hair is very similar , just longer. I think a texturizer can acheuve this look if your hair is coily or curly. If your hair is wavy, I don't think it can be achieved.

wow-she is gorgeous!

although she appears to be natural i know for a fact that you (ie-a natural woman) can achieve this exact look by doing a spiral set

I think this is natural. Most texturizers I've seen have curls that hang down instead of outwards.

Hi,

maybe its just me but, I have relaxed 3c hair (2 months w/o perm). I just did a bantu knot set and my hair came out just like hers. I love it! and to think I was going to buy some curly hair to have sewn in my hair. I made about 23 bantu knots and my hair is about 7 inches long.

I'm thinking it's natural too. My looks like this but frizzier/fuzzier - not as pretty as hers, when it was natural. I would shampoo and condition, then towel dry squeezing all the water out. Then I would add globs of gel curl activator and then blow dry far from the head with a diffuser on it! It would make it dry curled up looking like this. But again, mine wasn't as pretty and "neat" as hers. Mine was much more fuzzy/frizzy on the ends but definitely was curly too. I don't think this girl in the picture has to go through all that work that I had too. Also, I couldn't dare comb it because it would frizz/fro out big time. I could just "lift" it with the pick from the roots, but that's it. Her hair is gorgeous! If I could get that look from a texturizer, heck, I might texturize tonight! I just saw Model Chick's pics and man! They're gorgeous!! Beautiful wash and wear hair!!

I don't think you can tell from a picture whether someone's hair is natural or texturized..a correctly done texturizer (so no overprocessing) should look natural. But that's not to say that you can't have those curls naturally.~

She has product in her hair, b/c the curls are more defined than "normal". Her ringlets look shaped and "defined" by something.

I can get my natural hair to look like that by doing a twist out and wetting my ends, it gives it more of a natural look.

Hey I wore my hair like this today!!!! All did was a VO5 co wash and adde da small amount of mango butter and SHAKE!!!!

I agree with BronzeBrown!

It's very hard to tell if someone is natural or texturized from just looking at the pics. When I was natural I had several people ask me if my hair was texturized and that was when my hair was pulled back (my hair type is mixed 4a/4b)!

I'm texturized now and my hair looked like that when I only texturized for 5 minutes. When I took it up a notch (10 minutes), it has a looser coil to it!

At any rate, her hair is beautiful!
