can someone tell me if there is a difference between fine hair and thin hair?

I consider my hair to be fine because there's not alot of it. But when my new growth comes in it's very thick and coarse. As soon as I perm it the results are flat and lifeless hair. What does that mean? Should I not perm my hair? Am I using too strong of a perm? So confused ...

"Fine hair" usually refers to strand texture/thickness of the individual hairs, "thin hair" refers to hair density on the scalp (the number of hairs you have on your head). Some folx use the terms interchangeably tho.

Maybe your hair is overprocessed. I agree w/ what Enchantment said. Some use the terms interchangably.
