Hi ladies,
I'm read somewhere in the threads (and yes I did a search) that I should clean my hot comb before each use. And I remember reading alcohol and ACV, can someone give up there cleaning recipe?

I was just sitting her cleaning one of my regular small tooth combs...its hell try. I wish you luck on cleaning your hot comb.

I know the thread you're talking about. Couldn't find it either! But I do believe lye was the secret :yep: --Thanks Camilla for that reminder. The thread showed before and after pictures of what the comb (or was it a flat iron? :scratchch ) looked like before and after. Very impressive results, as far as I can remember.

If you have any old relaxer around, heat up the hot comb and dip in the relaxer and wipe off. It comes clean just that easy.

I soaked mine in so marcel cleaning solution for a few hours then I used a small brass brush to clean in between the teeth. Now if you have some serious build up in between the teeth, soak the hot comb for a few days and then use the brass brush to remove the build up in between the teeth.

My stylist uses Easy Off oven cleaner, then he uses a tool brush which easily scrubs it clean. Try using a tooth brush if you don't have a brass, stainless steel, or nylon brush.
