I think it's a matter of how long you leave the relaxer on and how you apply it.
if you leave it on long and comb it thru the new growth so it's bone straight it's a 'relaxer'
and when you just apply similar to conditioner and take it out very quickly and leave your hair with some level of curly texture it's a 'texlaxer'
s curl - i have no clue

but i may be wrong... lol

S Curl is a product (activator) that was initially meant for use on a jheri curl, which has been found to work well as a moisturizer and is used both by relaxed heads and natural heads.

There's also an S-Curl kit that can be used to texturize hair, kinda jheri curlish in nature. The activator, which a lot of people around here use as a moisturizer, is a side item just like Care Free had the actual curl then the activator could be purchased separately to keep it from looking like Luther Vandross' (RIP) :look:.

To me, the difference is as follows:

Relaxer: Chemical process to release(relax/straighten) curl in afro hair.
Texlax: Still a relaxer, but the name comes from the technique used, not the actual product. A relaxer is used and intentionally underprocessed to keep texture/curls/waves in the hair, but make it more managable. Users of this method get to wear their hair straight with lots of volume, but can go back to curly very easily. Textured + Relaxer= Texlax.
Texturizer/S-Curl: A product made specifically for the purpose of giving the appearance of curly hair. When I think texturizer, I think of guys and women w/low cuts with the "wet, curly" look. S-Curl is a texturizer.

I personally don't consider someone texlaxed if they use a texturizer because it's not a relaxer (technically...I'm not trying to confuse you so I'll leave it at that).
