Can someone in the LHCF FBI help me?

I had placed some Nioxin vitamins in my cart on Amazon for a future purchase. When I returned to my cart a few days later and tried to order the item, it wouldn't allow me to do so and provided this message:

Item Under Review

While this item is available from other marketplace sellers on this page, it is not currently offered by Amazon.com because customers have told us there may be something wrong with our inventory of the item, the way we are shipping it, or the way it's described here. (Thanks for the tip!)
We're working to fix the problem as quickly as possible.

I normally try to get all my items from Amazon directly and not their Marketplace Vendors. I do see the vendors are still selling it, and Amazon is fulfilling orders. I just want to know if anyone has heard about anything being wrong with the product. I have seen complaints about cracks in the pills and bottles not having the proper amount in them. Those complaints were old, I believe.

I love Nioxin, but I don't wanna be in the dark about what's going on, especially if it is going inside my body. I tried getting Direct answers by calling the number listed on the bottle. You get a machine to leave a message. This could be nothing, but I was just wondering if anyone knew anything.

I am soo glad you posted this because I too purchased my Nioxin pills from Amazon (also sold by Amazon) and my pills are cracked. I have been curious about this since day one but figured Amazon is reputable. I was looking at my pills again tonight and decided to google information on cracked Nioxin pills to see if anyone else's pills arrived cracked. I'm calling them in the morning to see what's going on; I have six 90 count bottles.

I did a google search also when the cracks were mentioned. Someone said the pills were old and ineffective because of the cracks. I looked at the expiration date on my bottle, and it wasn't expired. If they didn't cost so much for 30 pills, I'd purchase them from the salon in Walmart just to see if they have cracks in them. I do know my first two bottles I ordered from them didn't have any cracks. This is equal to pulling things off the shelves in stores because something was discovered. Normally, in those cases, something that has been deemed as potentially fatal is the issue. I'd be at ease to know that cracks are just the issue in this case or just shortage of pills in each bottle.

Mine were cracked too. I thought it was odd, but with shipping, thought it could happen. I did contact seller and they said they are fine (probably should've contacted Nioxin instead). I know a few other ladies complained of cracks. Interesting that they did not disclose the problem.

Well
1. Although I would not but cracked pills

2. They are pills and not capsules which mean they can be crushed/cracked/grinded and stil be effective...

There is another seller (with non cracked) mentioned in the nioxin thread.

Sent from my MyTouch 4G

My pills are cracked too. Hmmmm

ETA: Alright, this pisses me off. I went on Nioxin's website and did a live chat. As it turns out - they say that yes if the pills are cracked, they are old and ineffective. I was 3 days outside of my return with Amazon BUT customer service authorized a return anyway, TG.

So I lost a month and now have to spend about $15 more for a guaranteed package of vitamins from a salon which are guaranteed by Nioxin. IF you order from Amazon, you will NOT be able to get any assistance from Nioxin as they do not authorize sales through ANY online vendors. Buyer beware!

I will post this in the Nioxin thread as well.

I called Amazon at midnight after I realized there was a system wide problem with the pills purchased from them. The rep told me there were other customers with the same complaint and has issued me a return label. I'm going to order from an authorized seller from this point on, no matter the cost. I had been on them for about a month, it's no wonder why I haven't seen much significant growth. I'm actually a little relieved that it was the pills and not my hair.

wow...my last two 90 pill bottles have been cracked....:wallbash:

I just checked Nioxin's site and noticed that the bottle is different from the ones sold on Amazon...wonder if this is how we know we purchased an old bottle

Well its hard to say since they are in the process of re-designing their product line. But its pretty safe to say, if your pills were cracked, they probably either are OLD or are not the real thing. Its really very maddening.

I am on my way to Ulta to pick up the pills shortly.

Kiwi74 how do you know that you're buying form an authorized seller?:ohwell:

^^^ You need to buy it at places like Ulta - they will definitely be authorised.

Thanks for the heads up on this OP. I checked mine and they have cracks in them - I won't be re-ordering.

@ Trendsetta25, because I'm buying from Ulta. Just printed my coupon and on my way to Ulta now. The 20% off will be a nice savings, thanks!

How far are you from Edgewater, NJ? I live close by there. I called the Ulta there and they have both the 30-day and 90-day supply.

If I were you, I would contact Amazon's customer service. They have a phone, email or chat option. I used the chat and received a return receipt immediately altho I have used about 1/3 of the bottle.

mzteaze i live in BKLYN so it's kind of far :ohwell:
I sent Amazon an email with my order numbers. I don't know if they will refund me back for the 2 bottles i bought.

If your expiration date is good, then your pills are fine. a cracked tablet is just that-a cracked tablet. Still will do what ever it is supposed to do regardless. And of course Nioxin is going to say those cracked pills are ineffective....they want you to pay full price from THEM. Amazon pulled the bottles because of people complaining of cracked tablets. I plan to continue to take mine, as they have had no ill effect, and I have seen results. Ya'll can freak out if ya want to, LOL. Until the there is an official recall stating that these vitamins pose a health risk, I'm not gonna.

ETA, my bottles expire in late 2013...

My expiry is 2012. I found them a bit "meh" anyway, no noticeable difference in the end and I gave it six months.

LOL Brooklyn isn't that far as I travel over there all the time.

How long ago were your purchase from Amazon? You can check the Nioxin website for a local place.

My expiration date was good (11/2012) but there was NOTHING happening. I do take threats of counterfeits seriously due to many of the potential issues. So if Noixin isn't going to back that product, it does me no good if I have problems now or in the future.

I don't think I've ever received a bottle where some of the pills didn't have cracks. To be honest I'm almost at the 6 mo mark and while I have noticed a def improvement in my nails the hair growth has just been a moderate improvement. Hmm maybe I ll switch to hairfinity and give them a shot

mzteaze, thanks for finding out what was going on. It's glad to know that it's nothing that could make you physically sick going on with these pills, but I'm pissed that I assumed I was purchasing from an authorized dealer. If they had good shipments up until recently, who had they been ordering from. Perhaps Nioxin made a bad batch, and instead of wanting to lose any money, still sent them out. Perhaps they sold them as irregular to vendors. That happens a lot in the clothing industry, and some stores are honest enough and mark items irregular, and some sell them at the regular price and hope the buyer doesn't notice. I don't think we will ever really know about this cracked pill issue. I will say this, as popular as Amazon is, I find it pretty odd that Nioxin didn't try to stop them from selling their "unauthorized" product. Money talks, and BS walks!

Only a few companies are aggressive about going after unauthorized sellers. The bigger issue is, IF, you have a problem, Nioxin won't support the product. If you are ok with that, then it's really not an issue. with regards to products sold by an unsupported dealer, most companies draw the line of support at that point because they will not guarantee the product. This is the same even with pharmaceuticals, if you purchase a product they can prove came thru an unsupported source (it IS traceable), they generally react in the same manner. It is truly buyer beware.

mzteaze. I'm not comfortable with buying from any unauthorized dealer. That's why I chose to use Amazon directly instead of their vendors, thinking I wouldn't have any issues. I'm about to take my happy tail to Fayetteville Pavillion to Ulta and get me a out three bottles. Perhaps when these run out, they will have another 20% off, and get some more. I called Ulta, and they are $41. So after the discount $33 isn't bad. The thing I really find amazing is that I now find out after I spoke to Ulta, they aren't authorized to ship the pills in the mail. Lucky I live a few minutes away from Ulta. The things we learn!

That's the point. I saw the cracked pills and figured the companies QA/QC was sub-par (most companies do not sell less than perfect pills for a number of reasons - I work in the industry FYI).:ohwell::perplexed But, once I found that Nioxin won't back the product, its a wrap.

I like saving money like anyone else BUT the few extra dollars I have to pay is small in comparison to potential problems/issues.

@trendsetta25

You might be out of luck, but I would suggest talking to customer service just in case. The worse they can say is no.

mzteaze Amazon just refunded me $30! They actually gave me credit towards my next purchase. I think i'm going to try the vendor @mEmYSELFaNDj uses.

Here's the email:
