I bought some today per instructions I got on this forum when asking about a good heat protectant. Nothing on the bottle at all says heat protectant. Can anyone explain how this stops your hair from burning?

It's the silk proteins themselves. They form a barrier and, as the strongest natural fiber, I'm gonna assume that barrier is pretty good. The barrier absorbs some of the bad effects of the heat.
