Hi everyone

! How are you doing? I wanted to ask if it was possible for your hair to stop growing! The reason I ask this question is because I was wearing sew ins for about 4 years now and I still do not have brastrap length hair

, I feel that after so long even if I wasn't moisturizing properly it still should have grown and not have broken since it was in braids

! Can anyone explain this to me please?

Maybe your hair grows at a slower rate, because i know that when I had braids in my hair for a long time it never really had drastic growth...maybe try keeping your hair out of braids for a while and you may start to see results.....i hope this helps...oh and it also depends on you scalp condition in the braids because it you have an excess of sebum in your hair it clogs your pores...but if actual hair stops growing leads to baldness, so i dont think you need to worry so much.

Thank you for answering 26INCHHAIR maybe that is the reason! My hair really doesn't like braids! I never thought of that! I want to take them out but I am afraid that I will look crazy without the weave (being that I haven't worn my hair for about 8 years) I am going to try it, I am scared and a little nervous so it might take awhile but I will try it!

Its really ok, im sure you will look just fine, it will just be different we all go through it like when I told the stylist to only trim my hair and she cut it to my chin when it was shoulders

, but really doing that will truly benefit your hair, sometimes change is good!

kaykay your hair can still break while it's in braids if you don't moisturize it properly. I have never worn braids with hair added but I do wear box braids for a couple of months at a time. But I wash them everyday and moisture them to prevent breakage. Your hair is growing for 4 years but it is probably breaking at the same rate that it is growing, therefore, you don't see any growth. The same thing used to happen to me before I found the hair boards and learned that our hair needs moisture, moisture, moisture. hope this helps.

Kaykay, I wear braids for hair growth. I keep em super moisturized with S-curl. I totally saturate them every nite, then I massage my scalp gently for about 15 minutes. Put on a shower cap and take a hot shower -- this helps the moisturizer to properly penetrate. I got 2inches in the 7 weeks that I wore the braids. It was my fisrt time doing it that way and I was so pleased with my hairdresser being so shocked at the amount of new growth that I decided to rebraid for another 6 weeks.

I am positive that keeping them saturated is what made it grow so much. I wore braids last year and did not have this much growth. It's the only thing I did different.

Thanks everyone
Debyjay I think I am going to try that since I already have some S-curl, So I will try tonight and post in a month!
