Can I share how NTM saved me this weekend?

Hark...Hark....my fellow 4a/b's....My NTM posse....others.....who may have encountered a similar horror.

Since I have joined this board...I thought I was invincible...I could try just about anything up on here...and didn't really encounter any major problems trying out things....

Well...that ended on Friday...in my lil mind being 6 wks post touch up...and not wanting to break out the Aphoghee just yet as I have to replace my hood dryer...I was like...let me do an intensive protein conditioning treatment....

I wanted to do a version of the GPB conditioner as a pre-poo...
well..I put the new version on my head...and with running around...it wound up being on my head about 4 plus hours rather than the two I had counted on...
then I poo'd with my Keracare ....then...uh-oh...

I put the Affirm 5-n-1 on my head....then I was like...I want to finish up this Motions CPR...and put it on top of that....I sat under a heating cap for 30 minutes....when the time came to rinse...there was some drastic unaccustomed tangling - I know a lot of folks have detangling issues...but that has never been a big issue for me....so...I slapped some Humecto on for a lil bit...and rinsed...and NADA, nothing....

I saw the size of the tangled hair...and I got so scared...like...panicked scared...like...I'm about to lose all my progress hair trying to get this tangle mess out of my head...

All I could think was "Mo....grab the NTM...."

I grabbed what I had left of the Hair Mask...then slapped on some of the Deep Daily Conditioner on top of that...smoothed and worked through!

IT WAS MAGICAL!

I only wound up with about a quarter size of hair loss (and I think that may have included some shed hair...cause I really don't comb my hair of late).

I couldn't believe it! I swear to you guys, I literally thanked the NTM gods for this product...I kept talking to myself out loud..like this sh*t saved me! I was doing a commercial in the bathroom, "Thank you NTM! Thank you!" while making prayer motions to the sky. The comb just glided through my hair and was ridiculously soft for all it had just been through.

And I also learned a valuable lesson...no more experimenting for me.

I'm gonna stick with my tried and true...

Thank you for letting me share...how NTM saved me and allowed me to keep the bulk of hair on my head...and not in the garbage pail.

Thank u mrslee! I was scurred girl! U hear me! SCURRED! and yeah, I slapped on the serum too! That sealed the deal for me...it's like I fell in love all ova again...

I had tangling issues the day that I tried GPB as a pre-poo also. Like you, I also tried several conditioners to detangle and noticed that I was losing more hair than I would have liked to. The thing that saved me that day and gave me complete detangling power was a hot oil treatment. (ION brand hot oil treatment--good stuff!)

Mona I had a moment like that. I decided to try a hennalucent treatment. After all the raves here about the shine you get from this I thought it couldn't hurt... I was soooooo wrong! When I got finished rinsing the goop and twigs from my hair it was HARD and I was pissed. I smoothed on some NTM mask and let that sit for 15 mins. When I rinsed my hiar was soft again. I love that stuff!

You really are a writer chick in training. I was all up in your post like, "what happened next, girl?!" I'm happy to hear that the NTM worked. Thanks for sharing the knowledge. I had a similar issue but this was pre-LHCF so I was left with a tangled head of broken hair.

Mona I am willing to bet money that the Affirm 5 n 1 tangled your hair up like that. The same thing happened to me months ago and a sista went into panic mode too . Needless to say, I've never used that sucker again and don't plan to.

OMG... have we ALL been there, or what??!! That is just THE WORST!!! You can just FEEL your hair and it's like... UH OH... something's wrong!! WHY is my hair all matted up on my scalp??!! SCARY!!!

I'm SO glad everything turned out good for you in the end!!! It's so weird how certain products or combinations of products can wreak havoc on the hair!!

Girl..you ain't never lie!!!! Glad to see NTM had to save you..you know better.
NTM is the best detangler. People always ask what I use as a detangler, I say nothing, I use NTM daily conditioner. It detangles my hair and it softens it within minutes.

If you do use Affirm 5 in 1, try mixing it with a moisturizing conditioner like Humecto or the magical NTM. This works for me.

Thank you lovely ladies for your support and feedback!!! I'm much better now after that trauma...I can't remember the last time I ever encountered something like that...maybe that's why it scurred me so badly.

Anyhoo...yes SimplyCee and Dreems (my Aries sista)...NTM is truly the shiznit.

@Lorraine (my other Aries sista, lol) - all my people always tell me that when I write them things. My boy actually got my computer for me two years ago cause he didn't want me to have an excuse not to be writing lol. You should've seen my email to all my peeps called..."Welcome to Atlanta" when I went there for All Star weekend a couple of years ago. Everybody said they felt like they were there with me. I will think of you next time I am working on my writing for inspiration!

@MovieStar - I'm thinking it was the 1,2 punch combo of the Affirm 5 n 1 and the Motions CPR....fine separately...a big no,no together, although...my breakage has stopped! lol. I didn't think it was the GPB...although I've never used it as a pre-poo before, only after pooing.

@Sylver - Queen NTM...I know the gospel girl...u ain't gotta preach it to me. I was telling my fam what happened and I was preaching the word of NTM...I went and bought some more NTM Daily Deep...and left it in my cousin's jeep. I'm still waiting for the return of my conditioner. Hopefully, I will have it back in time for my wash day this weekend.

@Rabia Elaine - I will keep that suggestion in mind. I have at least a half a bottle of the Affirm 5 n 1 left and I would like to finish it up. Thanks much!

I just want to tell you how much I am LOVING your new Triple Moisture line of hair products. They are absolutely WONDERFUL!!! I am an African-American female with hair that is both color treated and relaxed. (You know that can spell trouble!) But your products leave my hair soft, moisturized and detangled. I guess you could call this my 'Holy Grail' product because it has replaced everything else I have used, including the salon brands!! I have told my friends, co-workers, and family about your products and they love them too. Actually our local Wal-mart can't keep the shelf stocked! I just wanted to tell you how wonderful it was to have a problem live up to it's claims (actually they are much better than I ever expected).

5+1 probaly did do this because it mostly a protien which hardens the hair 5+1 must be mix with a moisturizing conditioner.

You should be fine without the poo, although some like to keep it all in one line.

I generally use my Keracare/CON mix for my main poo. I use the NTM poo to alternate with.
