Can I RELAX after I've used BKT?

All natural!
I've set an appointment for three hours from now, and I *thought* it would be okay, but now I'm not sure b/c the website for QOD Gold doesn't say.

I've done it twice; I've got about 2-3 inches newgrowth and i want to relax.

Does anyone know if I will suffer ill effects?

TIA

I relaxed my NG 8 weeks after doing the BKT and the only effect is that the treatment stripped off my hair. (Whick I was so grateful for)

No other ill effects. (Breakage, shedding etc.)

I used Softliss and my hair is fine (now that the treatment is off my hair)

Thank you; I thought that people were doing this but just wanted to check.

My stylist is going to whine after I tell her about the BKT, I'm sure .

Not to hijack but... you didn't like the BKT?

Nope, made my hair feel gross. Like it had a hard layer over each strand that nothing would penetrate. My hair dried out and broke off at the ends, causing me to have to cut a few inches to make it look decent.

It's better now.

I relaxed a week after I bkt'd, because my NG roots and edges were puffy after the 1st treatment. Don't get me wrong the BKT made the NG soft but not bone straight. I relaxed a week later and then BKT'd again. My hair is doing just fine.

Thanks ladies, I'm back from the salon.

I relaxed with Elucence with no problem; however, my stylist (who I did not tell about the BKT - another thread) said after she rinsed AND neutralized that my hair was "off". She said the cuticles remained open, and the hair was dull and dry; rough to the touch when she was used to it being silky at that point. She gave me a custom conditioning treatment to fortify the hair, put me under the dryer, and pronounced me "back to normal" (she's been doing my hair almost 10 years).

She said my ends looks terrible; she removed about 2 1/2 inches, in some places. I miss the length but it does look so much better.

I feel wimpy for backing out on the transition, but now I don't have to think so hard about my hair for now. Honestly, along with the Sabino Moisture Block, my hair will do what I need it to do while relaxed. When I have more time to concentrate on the hair, I will make a plan to go natural again.

After all, hair just keeps on growin' !

Your siggy hair is beautiful!!!

WinterinAtl thanks for sharing your experience. I figured a retouch would strip the BKT off the hair with the neutralizer and the relaxer itself. My plan is to do the relaxer and then the BKT a week later or so.
