I moisturized my hair, sealed it with oil and, twisted it.

Is it okay if I leave my hair like this throughout the day and sleep with at night? Could I use this as a protective style?

I'm not sure if it matters but, my hair is relaxed..
OH. when I was doing it I noticed I shed some hair.. I don't know if it was a normal amount or too much. Could it be because I have split ends?

I followed the steps in this video.

I wear twists almost all the time, so yes I think you can. It's about your comfort level with them.

Regarding the shed hair, if it's genuinely shed hair, I wouldn't worry about it. I don't know what's normal or excessive for you; I know people can shed 60-100 hairs a day. If they're genuinely shed hairs, and not breakage (the white bulb on the end will indicate that it's a shed hair), then I wouldn't think that it's because of your split ends. HTH!

Some of the twists keep on coming undone.
Is there a way to keep them intact?

I've never seen a white bulb on the end. They are probably from the split ends then.
I really would like to get a trim so the split ends won't go farther up the shaft. Also it makes the hair look healthier w/o them. My mom is telling me to just wait till I get another relaxer. (mid-end Sept)

u can bobby pin them to ur head.
or as some ladies do they add rollers, but this wont work if ur planning to wear it during the day.

as for ur trim if you wait there is a possibility for them to grow so u kinda just have to listen to your hair and see what it tells u. if u wait till sept. there is a possibility of more damage.

go natural

our natural curl pattern helps to hold twists and braids longer :yep:

but if you are looking for something less drastic, i would suggest a holding gel/setting lotion...

really? I never realized that.
That's cool.

Would the gel and setting lotions harden in my hair?
