I'm just amazed at my hair! It is doing well right now, but I don't know how to measure progress. What I do know is- my hair did get a bit longer. How on earth do u ladies measure afros? It may be a dumb q, but I still wanna know. My shrinkage is a biayach, so my whole perception is off. I am still a hapless
newby. :ohwell:

I am newly natural. Did the bc Mar 2005. I just measured mine with a sewing measuring tape. I got 4 1/2 inches stretched. Shrinkage is a beyotch.

If I don't feel like blowdrying to measure, I comb thru and take my shedded hairs and measure them. I do this on different areas of my head and take several of them to get a average length of each area.

Thanks, guys. My hair is hard to straiten because it is so curly. I've been heat free since January, with the exception of trying the miniglide, which didn't work on my hair. :( I'm hoping to get enough lenght where I can try to braid or twist it. Extensions are out because they break my hair. Please keep up w/ the great tips! :)
