Thanks so much. If you could, could you post your hair type and the strength relaxer you used as well?

My sometimes beautician told me not to use Motions because they'd swapped chemists and the relaxer solution was very harsh on our hair.

I don't really care for motions relaxers anymore. As far as box relaxers go, I'd recieved much better results with Elasta QP (regular).

I'm 4a/4b (i guess). I use regular relaxers.

When I was relaxed and then texlaxed everytime I used this I had:

1.Uber burning

2.Horribly underprocessed hair.

And not..."texlaxed" underprocesse as texlaxing was what I was trying to do.

Under processed as in: makes hairly curly hair and tangled, dry, mess with a half-curl, half-straight, half-GONE hair texture not found in nature. :lachen:

Used Motions once, mild relaxer lye....BURNS LIKE THE DEVIL!!!!!:lachen:

I wouldn't recommend it.

ETA: Oh yeah, it was tangled, frizzy and dry! More underprocessed than my normal texlaxing. Was taking my BF to Disney World the next day and was pissed that I had to wear a bun the whole time!

I would agree. Most of the stylists I went to said it wasn't a good relaxer. It made my hair break off all over the place. :nono:

Thanks ladies.....

I ended up going with Silk Elements No-Lye Sensitive Scalp. Can we say soft, silky hair???? No burning! I will chelate my hair to rid the calcium. I was suffering with lye relaxers because I thought they were better for my hair at the expense of me burning like crazy. I may have to stick with it...unless you ladies know of a lye that doesn't burn...

my scalp started itching after a year's use of motions, now it's 4 years later and my scalp still itches. :wallbash: my scalp never itched b4 when i was using soft n beautiful.

Thanks ladies.....

I have very sensitive scalp also and i think I tried every lye and no lye out there. I decided to stick with lye and not risk the calcium deposits on my hair. Why don't you just base your scalp the day before and the morning of? That has really helped me to combat the scalp irritation that i face with lye relaxers.

Ill try that next time....thanks ladies!

Motions was used on me for years. I have NEVER had the type of burns with ANY other relaxer than what I had with Motions. Throw that crap away!
