Can a natural 4a do a roller set and how straight would it be?

I'm 4a and was wondering how a rollerset would turnout on my hair. Would I still have to flatiron it afterwards and should I use some type of Frizz ease on it or another product to straighten it like Jam's Straightening balm?

thanks

My sister is a natural 4a. I've rollerset her hair, and she's had it done at a Dominican salon for special events.

I will post the pictures when I get a hold of them, but it gets straight and looks just like my hair when I get a rollerset. The only thing is that it reverts within about 3 days (although my sister sweats up a storm at night so that may be why). Note: she's a natural who presses at least once - twice a month and therefore has some heat damage (straight pieces). I'm not sure how much this helps to get her hair straight.

When I do her hair, we just flat iron the roots. At the Dominican salon, they blow the roots. It turns out nicely!

I have before when I had heat damage. My roots came out nappy as hell, and the rest of my hair was ok. It wasn't cute though so I washed it out. I never tried again.

I do roller sets all of the time. You can get your hair pretty straight with rollers. It may not be bone straight, but it will be straight. The trick is to roll the hair very taut around the rollers.

Check out my album. Link and password are in my sig.

I have yet to master this. Rollersetting just helps me show a little more length and it only lasts for a day.

Thanks so much. I want to go to a stylist to do this but I have to find one who can work w/ my natural texture because every young stylist I know wants to slap a perm in your head. So, I will probably just get the rollerset for my graduation.
