Do you use 5 products or less on your hair? Be honest. and I'm not talking staples in a huge closet.

I know you ladies are out there who've got your routine down to a science.

Please say whether you are relaxed or natural, and what hair texture you have.

Me: Natural, poofy 3 and 4 hair.
When I wear my hair natural (95% of the time, but that's about to change) I use:
1. Matas Anti-Klor Shampoo (a Danish anti-cholrine shampoo)
2. Pantene Smooth and Silky
3. Shea Butter (as a hot oil treatment)
4. Queen Helene Gel- and only if I'm going somewhere special

Jason natural's sea kelp shampoo
Jason natural's sea kelp conditioner
jojoba oil to seal ends
salerm 21 leave in

there are other products i use on a as needed basis
fantasia ic heat protectant for flat ironing, i only flat iron once a month
clarifying poo once a month
Ultrasheen duo tex after i relax

i am relaxed, shoulder length and 4A

Elucence MB Shampoo
Elucence MB Conditioner
Fantasia IC Leave-In
Tigi Bed Head Split Ends Mender

BTW, I'm a natural 3C/4A.

I have more than 5 products but I use less than 5 products on my hair during the week. Here's what I use:
*1 to 4 times a month - shampoo and condition with Jason Naturals Biotin
*2 times a day - Africa's Best Kids Organics Shea Butter Detangling Moisturizing Lotion

And that's it! I may sometimes apply a small amount of Citre Shine gel on lil frizzies that pop up around my edges.

By the way, my hair is extremely tighly coiled, fine stranded, and densely compacted.

I wash with a 2 in 1 stores own brand, put coconut oil on damp hair and thats it! When I flat iron i use coconut oil.

I tend to mix commercial with natural products, but the routine is pretty simple for my fine-to-medium, 4a/b, natural hair:

I wash with a cheap, cone-free condition (White Rain Energizing Citrus for now); condition and detangle with the same, mixed with honey (and sometimes aloe for a DT); after it is mostly dry, I spray on my Surge mixed with glycerin and castor oil.

After a DT, I use an ice-cold, rosemary EO/ACV rinse to remove it.

I'm a natural ...don't know about typing...3C/4A maybe?

I use:
~Shampoo
~Conditioner
~Leave-In
when curly ~Setting Lotion
when straight ~Serum/Oil
..~& a protien conditoner ever so often

Ooops I made six...oh well.

My only products I use are:

1. Breakthru Shampoo
2. Suave clarifying shampoo
3. Jam
4. Motions leave-in conditioner

My hair is natural. I guess I'm 3b/c, but I'm treading lightly with that one because it seems opinion varies on the hair typing thing.

I cowash, use a leave in and if I need more moisture, I'll use a natural butter. I use shampoo infrequently.

Right now I'm using:

1) Hawaii conditioner for normal hair
2) Goth Rosary conditioner (leave in)
3) Hemp seed butter for twists and ends of my hair

I change the brands sometimes, but I mostly stick to these basics. When I need to shampoo, I use AO Calaguala Fern shampoo.

Weekly, I use:

*Motions Neutralizing Shampoo
*Pantene ProV Relaxed and Natural Moisturising Conditioner
*Jamaican Mango Lime Island Oil
*Optimum Oil Therapy 3-n-1 Creme Oil Moisturizer
*Motions Nourishing Leave In Conditioner

That's basically it. I add water to the leave in conditioner and the Creme Moisturizer to make them lighter.

keracare 1st lather poo (great product!!)
KC hydrating poo
KC con
Kc leave-in oil moisture

Transitioning to Natural
Hair Type: 2b/C/iii

Wash Day:
  1. Shampoo or Henna, alone or mixed w/ other powders (#1 is as needed)
  2. Conditioner
  3. Leave-In Conditioner (as needed)
  4. Creamy Moisturizer (as needed)
  5. Oil or Shea Butter (as needed)
Daily, it's #3 - #5.

I own a million and five products, but I generally use these products daily and have a good hair day:

-Cowash/rinse with a VO5 conditioner and some other random one.
-IC Fantasia Blue Gel (which I rinse out)
-Leave-in condish (currently Giovanni Direct)

So really, I daily use three conditioners (one for washing, one for conditioning and one for leave-in) and some gel.

Oh yeah, plus a hair accessory.

I am natural and my hair is spongy and tightly coiled.

Natural
100% Aloe Vera Gel
Any thick conditioner, currently using Garnier
Palmers Success Shea Butter
Dr. Bronners Almond Shampoo

Relaxed 4b

I use:

Mane and Tail Super Moisturizing shampoo and conditioner
Aveda Massage Oil to seal in moisture for my rollersets
Sally brand heat protectant when I flatiron
Suave Con for Co-washes

I am transitioning. I'm not sure of my hair type yet.

I live on Africa's Best Liquid Mayo and Cantu Leave-In Shea Butter. They were two of my first purchases, and I love them. I plan to buy more of Africa's Best and Cantu. I also love my Soft n Pretty Olive Oil Detangler.

I'm natural. My hair is combined type 4a/b. It's spirally when wet but frizzy and undefined when it's dry without products.

I'm at a bit more than 5 products, but this is my regimen. Every once in a blue moon, I may try a new product to see if I can find a cheaper/better substitute, but I always keep coming back to this routine with these products.

Wash 2x a week.
Ion clarifying poo
Biolage Ultra Hydrating poo to detangle.

Sit under dryer for 20 min. with NTM hair mask +unrefined coconut oil.

Leave ins
WGO
Aveda Be Curly

If I have a puff then I slick it back with the Sparkelites gel. If I put in twists I use ORS Loc and Twist gel.

I'm 4a/b, relaxed, and a recovered PJ!!!

Redken Cleansing Cream - Once a week to once every other week
Paul Mitchell Super Skinny Shampoo
Paul Mitchell Super Skinny Daily Treatment
Paul Mitchell Super Skinny Serum
Paul Mitchell Hair Repair Treatment - Every other week
Jamaican Mango and Lime No-Itch Spray on my braided sections
CHI Silk Infusion Drops

I know that's more than five but I figure the Cleansing Cream, Hair Repair Treatment, and CHI drops didn't really count since they're not used each time. Also, I was a SERIOUS PJ so this is such an accomplishment for me.

**bolded items are those that I use every day**

I'm Transitioning to Natural, my hair type is 3c/4a.

*Gel (either Long Aid or FOTE)
*Shampoo(VO5 Kiwi & Lime)
