 I bc about a week ago after 7.5 months so get this i have no curl pattern what so every not wet and not dry tired ic sparklites beyond the zone and can you believe it want even curl with conditioner some body please tell me what is going on.

Most of my head doesnt have a curl pattern either...just one of those things, sorry

You might also be having what is called scab hair. Do a search on scab hair, a few threads should come up.

It is also quite possible that your natural hair has no curl pattern of its own. Sorry to hear you're disappointed. Going natural is about accepting your hair, its particular curl pattern or lack of curl pattern, and working with it. As your hair grows longer, you can always get some temporary kind of curl pattern by braiding or twisting your hair when wet. Then the twistout or braidout should have the curl pattern left by the braids or twists.

I encourage you to take a look at Sascha's album if you don't know what to do with hair w/o a curl pattern--this woman's hair is just stunningly beautiful, and her styles are fabulous. I'd forgotten that she's one of my hairspirations. :D Curl pattern or no, natural hair is amazingly versatile.

Although you probably would have seen a curl pattern in your natural hair during your 7.5 months of transitioning (my curl pattern began to show up about 4 months post), you could have scab/damaged hair that will need to grow out. Some women say that it took up to two years for their real texture to emerge (but that's not to say that a curl pattern will necessarily emerge).

I hope that if being natural was your goal, you don't allow your lack of curl pattern at this point deter you. Thick, nappy, curly, and coily, I love my texture. Best wishes to you. :)

I agree with the previous ladies...also, did you use a lot of heat during your transition?..sometimes heat can alter the texture or curl definition

When you say you have no curl pattern, do you mean you have a wavy pattern instead? Or that your hair looks fluffy instead of curly?

used heat once during trans my hair iguess has a z pattern with no curls so i guess it is scab hair i have aleast 4.5 to 5 inches the back feels a little curly but i mostly see straight hair more than curly i knew i could count on you ladies to help a sista out my computer was down for two and a half weeks when went threw this so you know i was hurting

I agree. Check out Jainygirl's pictures. Her 4b hair is beautiful, and the styles are awesome. You don't need curls to have nice-looking hair. Also IMO, it's easier to do an Afro puff with hair that doesn't curl.

Yes, puffs look so bad a$$ with hair that doesn't curl. Check out AFashionSlave's album. You can always set the hair on perm rods or straws to get a curly look.
