Hi ladies of LHCF.
36_1_39.gif
My hair has really taken a dip since a year ago. Its slightly and its damaged its shorter and it doesnt look healthy i have tried for the life of me to get it back on track i started out with Mizani now i've switched to Design Essentials I use H20 on my hair before I blow dry it but i think it dries my hair out. I still go the beauticians but I am about to start going to a Dominican hair salon every 2 weeks but i try to take care of my hair in between visits because I have heard your not suppose to go 2 weeks without washing your hair. I've tried my best and it looks dry and stiff it doenst have that light bounce to it no shine no luster and it doesnt move

so i dont know what else to do im just very unhappy with it. And your hair plays a part in your self confidence.

Do you use heat protectant when you blowdry or use other types of heat? Heat damage could possibly be the problem. Deep conditioning regularly and reducing my heat use has really turned my hair around.

hon, you need to get moisture asap! first start washing your hair twice or once a week instead of every two weeks with a moisturizing shampoo. Start deep-condition by leaving the conditioner on your hair under a heated plastic cap for 15 minutes or more. always use a leave-in conditioner and use a daily moisturizer. if a product dries your hair out stop using it! to recap:

Every week:
-shampoo with a moisturizing shampoo such a creme of nature in the green bottle
-then apply a moisturizing conditioner (such as creme of nature) and leave it in for 15 minutes - preferable under a hooded dryer with a plastic cap
-always use a leave-in conditioner
-use a daily moisturizer
always use heat protectant before blowdrying and flatironing
when combing your hair be super gentle and detangle the ends first. ALWAYS USE A WIDE-TOOTH COMB!!! very important!

I agree with the other posts it does seem like you need moisture. I also agree with their recomendations cuting heat use, deep conditioning, and moisturizing are essential. Another recomendation I can think of us also to use a clarifying shampoo ocassionally. Sometimes the bulid up we have in our hair does not allow moisture to reach in. Clarifying and deep conditioning are small things that can make a big difference. As for product recomendations.I love the aveda sap moss line it is what I reach for when my hair needs an extra boost of moisture. Good luck:)

I agree with this whole post. :yep:

Alterna's Hemp Hydrate line is excellent for adding moisture. It's kind of pricey but it does the job for me every time.

Try more CWs and less poos that strip your hair when u wash. CWs you can do more often and not take all of the moisture out of your hair. Baby your ends...condition, seal and baggy.

Good luck. You can do it!!!

Thanks everybody hopefully my hair will look healthy and wonderful as most ladies on the board within the next few months. i will be posting when my hair starts to turn around.

This is my regimen:

Design Essentials Organic Cleanse
Design Essentials Moisture Retention Shampoo
Design Essentials HCO
Design Essentials Compostions Foaming Wrap Lotion
Design Essentials Stimulations Conditioner
Design Essentials Botanical Oils
Design Essentials Nutriment RX
Surge 14
Wild Hair Growth Oil

What products do you guys think i should use?

I'm not that familiar with the Design line because when my old hairdresser use to use them on me they made my scalp itch :perplexed, so she had to use other products on me . But one suggestion would be to lay off the heat styling. Heat can totally destroy even a healthy head of hair within a short period of time. Especially relaxed heads. Good luck with your hair care.

I'm new but when my hair broke off I got it cut, so that I could start from scratch.

This is what worked for my hair when it broke off:

1. I cut off all damaged ends
In my opinion it is easier to make healthy hair healthier. I have read a lot of posts and know that many do not agree with trims/cuts but in damaged hair I think it is needed.

2. I stopped blow drying and started wrapping as well as doing hot oil treatments

3. I used proctective styles after I cut to make my hair grow faster.
I got micro-braids for three months.

After doing all of these things when I took my micros out my hair was healthier and stronger than before and I did not need a trim.

Yes I am starting all over and yes my hair is a lot shorter but it is also healthier. Healthy hair grows much faster than damamged hair, at least this is what I have been told and it has held to be true.

DEEP CONDITION WITH JOICO K-PAK RECONSTRUCTOR UNDER DRYER 15-20 MINUTES. HAVE YOU TRIED SILK THERAPY FROM FAROUK? AND USEING CERAMIC FLAT IRON.
