Thanks! Good point...I'll be sure to remember to clarify.

Ladies...any other thoughts re the Sulfate Free Keracare Shampoo? It certainly did not work for me.

Thanks!
Ann

Is anyone here relaxed and using the KeraCare Hair Milk - Daily Sustainer?

I just purchased this and have been using it only 3 days. The jury is not in yet, so I was wondering if I could get some feedback in advance...

Humecto Creme Con :pant: :lick:

I also have the Creme Press but haven't used it yet as I read here that it's not good to put any product on your hair before flat ironing... I may try this next flat iron though, it's been sat on my dresser for 3 months!

I have ordered the Natural Textures Leave In (I hope it's a good alternative to Mizani H20) and the Natural Textures Twist & Define, I can't wait to get these!!!

At Christmas I'm going to treat myself to the whole darn Natural Textures line... but only if I've reached my goal length.

Keracare + my hair = :2inlove:

The Keracare Clarifying shampoo must be followed by the KC Hydrating Detangling Shampoo in order to work properly. The clarifying poo makes my hair a little hard as I'm shampooing it but as soon as I put on the hydrating poo, it softens immediately. I really love these shampoos. My hair is mildly texlaxed.

I have used the Hair Milk baddison and I love it. But then again I am mildly texlaxed and I wear my hair cornrowed under a wig currently. That may have something to do with me liking it.

I bought a bottle of Humecto today this will be my first time using the new version but I loved the old one:)

Thanks Aggie for replying. Do you apply the milk to wet (damp/towel-dried) hair, or do you use it on dry hair? I'm still trying to experiment with the best way to use it.

Definitely to wet damp hair baddison. I have notused it on dry hair so far but I might try it sometime, just don't know when.

I plan on returning to Keracare as one of my staple lines I've used it since I was relaxed BEFORE I went natural the first time and it has never failed me!

Would you all consider the itchy and dry scalp glossier a good product to use as a daily moisturizer?, or should go ahead and get the conditioning cream hairdress instead?

I tried the Humecto in a gold bottle and it sucked. I keep hearing about Keracare being so good so I'm thinking I should try again. I actually didn't know their shampoos were sulfate free so that's a big plus!

My stylist wants me to switch over the KC, but I dont wanna leave my CON-Green shampoo :nono:

I have the LI and havent used it yet.

There is a bss by me that sells KeraCare but she has a bunch of old bottles with the white labels. Are those super old or do you think they are safe to buy? I assumed they are old because when I looked onliine I saw blue and brown/gold bottles.

Hi ladies:

Wanted to know if any of you have experienced dry, matted hair after using the
Sulfate Free Keracare Shampoo? My hair is relaxed.

Thanks!
Ann

Ann816 Heck to the yeah! And I was so upset because I was Keracare die hard when I had a relaxer!

To answer the thread: Now that I'm natural, (and had 0 results with the natural hair care line) I still want to go back to one of my relaxer regimen staples--the Foam Wrap Setting Lotion--Hello Ladies???? This is the bomb (for roller sets on relaxed hair LOL) I really want to try it when I go back to sitting under my hooded dryer since I'm doing WNG's for the summer. When I had a relaxer my hair was sooooo silky smooth when I used this product. I had an old bottle (barely any left) haunting my product shelf and when I perused the ingredients, I was happy to see it was CG friendly. I don't think I have enough to do my whole head, though, so once my current PJ run is over and I've actually tried all the crap I bought this summer, I'll get another bottle of my ol' reliable! :yep:

KeraCare was my go to when I was relaxed. My stylist used Affirm Sensitive Scalp and styled with KeraCare, and I used KeraCare to maintain. I used KeraCare pretty much exclusively from the time I was 14 until the time I BCed, when I was a few months shy of 25.

I loved and still love KeraCare. However, the items I use have changed. When I was relaxed I used the Hydrating Detangling Shampoo, Humecto, and Silken Seal Liquid Sheen. The Detangling Hydrating Shampoo does just what it claims it will. Humecto was the bomb, and the Silken Seal was a great heat protectant.

Now that I'm natural I still use the Liquid Sheen. I also use the KeraCare Silken Seal (serum), the Oil Sheen, the Setting Lotion, the Essential Oils and sometimes the Creme Press. The Silken Seal is great for blowdrying. Now when I straighten my hair I use the Silken Seal serum first, before blowdrying, then I spray the Liquid Sheen between the blowdry and flat iron process. Makes my hair look like it's still relaxed (see signature).Sometimes, I might use the Essential Oils SPARINGLY on the ends to smooth them a bit more. I only use the Creme Press if I'm using a curling iron. It has a lot of hold and a little goes a really long way.

The Setting Lotion is absolutely fantastic. It makes my hair silky soft with body. It's the only thing I'll use for rollersets.

The only thing I've tried from KeraCare that I didn't love was the Oil Sheen. It says to use sparingly, and that's definitely correct. It makes my hair kind of stiff. It is shiny, but something about it...I don't know. If I ever use it up I won't repurchase.

Also, for those who didn't know, the scientist behind the line As I Am Naturally is the founder of KeraCare. So if you wear your hair curly or in it's natural state and you like or liked KeraCare, check out that line as well.

GreenEyedJen - Amen to the bolded! I didn't see this earlier. I'm all "whassup with people not knowing about the setting lotion?" I can't wait to try that on my natural hair under a hooded dryer. Well, I can, I have a lot of other products to try (and fail) before I go out and get another one of those. Plus--it's too hot in NYC to even think about sitting under a dryer. Thanks for the info on As I Am. I think I had to veto that one due to shea butter, but I'll have to revisit the ingredients. Part of me remembers thinking "no shea, I can try that."

I've now tried the KeraCare Natural Textures Leave In, which I use diluted in my M&S with equal parts glycerine and AVG. Can't say I'm fussed either way with this product, although I must say my hair has been constantly soft and moisturized since using this and I have no need to baggy each individual braid any more.

KeraCare Overnight Moisturizing Treatment is absolutely DIVINE!!!!! It cost £11 / $17 but honestly it's worth every penny. I use just the tiniest amount on the ends of each braid and my hair texture becomes so soft and silky, yes it does lol! Directions are to use every other night for two weeks. Will post another update at the end of that period. Ph is 3.2, I assume these guys know their stuff?

For those that have used both Is the Humecto Gold bottle just as good as the old one???

i think so, but there used to be an issue with folks saying the tubs were more concentrated than the bottles (even the old white ones). i think it is thick enough and not runny.

i just bought the strengthening thermal protector. i am going to try that out today.

it is creamy instead of oily or liquidity.

In my opinion the glossifier is nothing but grease. I have the cream hairdress, it is a light moisturizer. My mom is natural and uses it more than me. I like the oil moidsturizer with jojoba oil, but you may want to avoid this if you have fine hair.

Yes. I went ahead and got the cream hairdress to use as my daily moisturizer.

I love the KC Hydrating shampoo, but I am so jealous that you can still find the CON green label shampoo. This was a staple of mine for so long when I was relaxed two years ago. I am now relaxed again since June and using CON Argan Oil products and alternating with KC. Please let me know if you are ordering it online.

So glad to hear about the overnight treatment I've been debating if I should try it!!! May have to add this because my daughter's hair is a desert!!!

I am natural but my hair is bleached now and I love Keracare. Currently I use the shampoo and conditioner for colored treated hair and everynight I use the Leave In Conditioner first, then the Buttercreme, and last I seal with essential oils. This has been the best mixture ever for my color treated hair, my hair is never dry. I also like the Humecto Conditioner and Detangling Shampoo. I have 3 daughters, 1 relaxed 2 natural, and have also tried the Hair Milk, Defining Custard, and Twist and define and have had nothing but success. Slowly my hair cabinet has became all Keracare products.

What is the difference between the creme press and and oil sheen with humidity block? Ive been researching keracare since last night and i just made a list of 9 products i want.
Im definitely not getting them all maybe start off with 2 :ohwell:
