I flatiron my hair once a week after i wash my hair. Apart from applying setting lotion and hair oil to the shaft and ends I am looking for a really good heat protectant to use, any ideas?

Biosilk Silk Therepy. It's the only thing I use on my hair and I flat iron every week. I look forward to flat ironing just so I can use this product! (note: In my experience, a good deep conditioner is the best protectant [against anything!] in their hair. So if you use something light, like Biosilk, ensure that your hair is hydrated from the inside out.)

I only flatiron infrequently but based on previous recommendation on this board I use L'Oreal Nature's Threapy Heat Control Leave-In Protection Creme.

I am also a biosilk user.

I use KeraCare Silken Seal. It's very concentrated, but it leaves you hair feeling soft and looking shiny without the greasy feeling. Just make sure you use a tiny bit on each section.

I use Mizani ThermElastic & Ion Straightening Iron Spray.

Well its been a while since I used a flat iron but when I did I loved the way Ion Heat protecant made my hair feel. I also used ORS Olive Oil Creme right before using a flat iron. Both of these products made my hair feel soft not stiff.

WHen you flat iron, is your hair slightly damp or is it completely dry?

I use a little bit of wildgrowth hair oil on my ends to smooth them down.

Elasta QP Silk. It's a humectant and makes my hair last longer when straight.

I NEVER curl/flat iron while hair is damp or wet! This is a big no-no!

Ditto on the Dudley's Creme Press. It protects my hair and makes it soft and SHINY!
