Do you put anything special in your hair before using these? I had these a while ago, and just not a new set. From what I remember, my curls looked different with these then with a regular curling iron.

Any comments, suggestions or stories would be fun to read.

when i use mine i put a small amount of alcohol free mousse in my hair and a little serum then just roll away.

i only use them on previously styled hair. and i don't put anything on my hair until after i use them. at that time, i put Avon Dry Ends Serum.

Wasn't there an informercial for Caruso rollers like way back in the day? Or am I thinking of something else?

I'm interested in purchasing some, do you use them on wet hair??

mikki727 yes they did have informerical back in the day that's win I got my first 1 and no you can't use it on wet hair. I use a little foaming pomade.

They cost around $45-$50 for the models with the extra rollers included. Keep you eyes open for sales though, they can cost less. As I mentioned in another thread, I found a brand new, unopened Caruso Steam Roller system this summer with extra rollers and accessroies (all sealed) for only $7.00 at a garage sale with the original receipt of $49.95! I needed one too!

I use mine everyday for my bangs since I'm on the bun challenge. It must be used on hair that's already dry and I don't put anything on my hair until afterwards. It only takes 5 - 10 minutes to set and it works so well. Just remember to place the curlers on the steam hole for 8 seconds, not longer, for beautiful, long lasting curls (Now I sound like an infomercial!).

Leave it on too long and it's too wet. Your hair will get damp. Carolyn Gray says she uses them all of the time to bump her ends or create great roller sets. It literally puts moisture in your hair. I love them!

Allandra .... how do you curl your hair? Do you ever use a curling iron to straighten your hair? In your opinion, do you think that it's too damaging to use it once a week?
