Those look like 3c curls to me, the size of a straw. Doesn't Andre actually lump what we would call 3b and 3c together in one big "3b" category anyways? I think 3c is a category that was created by curlyheads, not Andre.

ITA. That's why I call hers 3b. Andre has had ample opportunity to update his hair typing system if he'd wanted to--he knows there's a bunch of folks out there who consider themselves 3c. He hasn't opted to do it, so I guess I'll follow his guidelines on his typing system.

For the record, I prefer LOIS.

im 3c,, i think, im not sure honestly. possibly 3b?
I have picture in my 2005 random album if anyone has a clue pls tell me, lol.

my regimen is really simple...
I wash,detangle,condtioner,quick detangle ( with shower brush)
spray (optional) with pantene leave in / detangler
an let dry.
thats all there is
style once dry

currently transitioning.

I'm 3a/b/c: 3a on the sides, 3b at the nape, and 3c at the crown. For now, I relax, but have stretched since July 2005 and am trying to go a full 12 months. If I learn how to manage the new growth in the crown better, I will definitely transition.

My regimen is pretty simple, I think.

Once a week, I do the following:
- Pre-poo with coconut oil and amla mix.
- Shampoo with ORS Uplifting Shampoo.
- Deep condition with ORS Hair Mayonnaise mixed with oil, e.g. castor oil, sweet almond oil.
- Roller set to dry.

Every evening I put some ORS Carrot Oil on my ends.

Silvergirl hey
i think (from ure pics) that you are a 3b, ure hair is amazing though!!!

thanks to everybody who responded...

3c here, I'd love to wear my hair straight more often, but with the humidity here in South Florida, it always frizzes up on me! I flat iron/press with kemi Oyl when I'm gonna wear it straight, but it only lasts a day or two. Anybody know of any products that will make a press/flat iron style stay longer???

I only saw pics with relaxed ends, and I don't think you can really tell for sure until you're totally natural, but those look more like 3c waves to me. The 3c parts of my hair make those tight waves. Pretty hair :)

I think I am 3b/3c, mostly 3c. My regimine is simple as well and consists of conditioner washes and rollerwraps. I am natural, but I love being able to wear my hair curly or straight!

yea thats what i think,,, im not sure my curls are big enough to be 3b,,, thats why i was thinking 3c,,, possibly even some 4a?

Ayanapooh, have you tried Aveda Brilliant Anti-Humectant for your straight styles? Also, a bit of Frizz Ease applied to wet or damp hair prior to drying/heat styling may help your straight looks last longer.

I'm a 3b...natural...love to wear my hair stright and curly
in the winter I wash...condition...and roller wrap
in the summer I co wash daily then air dry
